Digital Camera For Macro

This Pelican case is very rugged and just what I was looking for to carry my large format digital camera and one large macro lens. There was also room for my filters (Lee) and various accessories.

Negative Supply makes a very comprehensive system for scanning film in all formats by using a digital camera and a macro lens. I needed to scan 35mm, so I bought the 35mm LED light source, the 35mm Pro Film Carrier, and the Basic Riser (to which I mounted my digital camera). Everything worked perfectly! By using this system, negatives can be scanned quite quickly, doing an entire roll in a few minutes. Mounting the camera on the riser makes the camera perfectly parallel to the film. The film carrier keeps the film flat and, combined for a good macro lens, my scans were very sharp. Negative Supply's website (www.negative.supply) has a complete explanation of the entire system, including videos on how the various components work.

A digital macro lens with classical film camera type aperture and focus controls that produces high quality images. It is solidly built on a metal body.

I have just this year gotten back into film since the '70's. Scanning my negatives with a mirror less digital camera and macro lens just was not working easily for me. A friend suggested I try the Wolverine and I picked the F2D Saturn as I like 120 film. This digital converter is VERY easy to use and scans all the way up to 6x9 format! The quality of the images is on a par with my vintage Ikoflex , Rolleicord and Zeiss Ikon Nettar. This has made processing on my own much easier. I feel that now I can move on to the next phase of my B&W film photography!

I copied 992 slides to a digital format using my Canon 5D IV with a Canon 100mm Macro lens and a Kaiser Slimline lightbox. This copy stand was a joy to work with. The up/down mechanism is smooth and precise. Stability is solid. It is lightweight and easily assembled and disassembled. There is nothing to not like about it!

I am using this for a digital photography class. Macro is my final assignment for the next five weeks. So far the lens is great. The auto focus is annoying, but that is true of all macro/micro auto focus modes in my opinion. No complaints so far.

The M.Zuiko Digital ED 30mm f/3.5 Macro Lens is an exceptionally good optic for M43 users, allowing you to focus closer than any other lens designed for the M43 format. I prefer this lens over the M.Zuiko ED 60mm f2.8 Macro. You can actually do super macro photography with this lens, though lighting will be an issue as the lens can nearly touch the subject of focus. I have taken pictures of water droplets on dandelions with this lens, using a 300 lumen flashlight as a light source, and the results were amazing.
