I needed a stand that wasn't going to break the bank but also hold up a 5-pound or so light up high. I'm a wedding videographer, and I use this stand to hold a key light above eye level for receptions (Don't shine lights in guests faces!). It's beefy enough for this purpose and the base is wide so that, coupled with a sandbag, drunken wedding guests aren't going to knock it and themselves over. It's not so large or ugly not to blend in with the DJ equipment or along a wall and out of the way. Knuckle system is fine for me. I'm not sure if it is mentioned in the description, but there is a soft rubber 'bumper' at the bottom of the center pillar so that it can rest on the floor or used to prod your second videographer from 13' away. Suits my needs and I might buy another.

I use this to control my Lowel light during the wedding receptions. Kicking on a light can be jarring to guests. A great way to be discreet is to keep the light on low, then gradually bring it up to full power when it's time to film the toasts and speeches.

We bought this polaroid to use at our wedding reception! We think it will be a fun experience for our guests to take selfies and write a note in our guest book. We're looking forward to using it on our adventures after the party too!

I took many photos at a friends wedding with my digital camera. Part of my gift to the family were the photos. I downloaded the pictures on the Flash Drives and gave them to the father of the new couple. He can then distibute the pictures to his family and/or print the pictures as needed. A very simple and easy way to share my pictures.

I use it as a back up for my digital camera.
