This is my first DSLR - officially going digital after being a darkroom junkie for 15 years. I use it to shoot a lot of landscape and architecture and candid shots. Outdoors mostly. As opposed to the Nikon or Canon that are in the same field, this camera has water lock which will help me keep it safe in all the strange conditions into which i trapse. Not so great is the high iso quality. Coming from a film background i can not tolerate a pixelated look - so low light and hgh iso are not the best friends to me. But i can use my pentax lenses in this one or on my film camera so i still have the option to shoot in those settings with film. 5 |

We bought this camera to travel with, and to take pictures of theatrical performances. For the theatrical performances the silent mode was a big selling point. Very few other cameras of it's type have that. It may be a bit bigger than We wanted for travel, but We were only buying one camera. It is light weight, and not too large. With the 14-42mm lens it is a smaller profile. With a small prime it would be even more so. The camera has a great amount of flexibility and control. I am relatively new to digital SLR photography, having only owned advanced point and shoots before (I owned film SLR cameras, and printed in darkrooms and the like). I have come to the conclusion in modern digital photography the exposure controls are not just f/stop and shutter speed, but iso. This may seem obvious, but with in camera processing and better sensors higher iso's become practical. The standard lenses you can get with this camera without breaking your bank account too much -go down to about f3.5 or f/4. The high iso and image stabilizing technology allow for hand holding down to very slow shutter speeds (medium focal lengths). There are a lot of special modes that I doubt I'll use, there are many I've yet to sufficiently try out. The manual that comes with it is abridged, the actual one is online, and a deep read indeed. Build quality seems fine. One issue I had is that the serial number wore off. I copied it before it was totally gone. The connectivity of the camera to computers and other computery devices is a little flawed. There is some way to save pictures to something called the Lumix Club. I've yet to make that work. However, it can be made to copy pictures to your phone (as well as easily enough your computer -you will need to load drivers). 5 |

This is simply a superb little camera. Just when you think Canon couldn't possibly out do itself they surprise you with a nice little gem like this SD780. The camera is exceedingly small, yet if you look at the specs for the dimensions it pretty much sizes up with a few other tiny digital point and shoots. But the smooth rounded styling and lack of any protrusions make it look and feel smaller that its stats would suggest. Personally, I prefer the all black finish. And the best thing is that Canon has still managed to keep the optical viewfinder no matter how small the camera seems to get! I don't really see a big difference, however in the 12.2 megapixels as opposed to only 5mp in the older SD400 and SD30 cameras. I like to shoot at ISO 80 whenever possible and especially in black & white, but that's just me. At this speed rating the picture quality is outstanding. The only real drawback is that noise begins to show up rather quickly at around 200 ISO and pretty much goes downhill from there. If visual noise is a trade off for more pixels, I think I would rather have fewer pixels and less noise. The HD video quality is also quite remarkable although I only used it a couple of times. This is a real great pocket camera to take along wherever you go. It's picture quality and performance leave the competition in the dust that even my digital SLR stays home collecting!! 5 |

I use this to print my digital photographs on. It produces a high quality print with no bleeding, no loss of definition, and it is a heavy enough paper that gives great support to the photo. 5 |

Have been in semi-pro photography for many years, and have used at least 4 other brands of filters as lens protectors for film and digital cameras. Once I began using a full frame high definition dslr, I found that all of the filters that I had or purchased changed the IQ of my awesome camera lenses. I was so disappointed I removed all of the filters, and the images were perfect. I still wanted an outer glass to protect my lens investment and after reading about the B W UV Haze filters, I bought one. I will tell you, if you can afford to make the leap to this filter, you will never use anything else. I have them installed on all of my lenses. Beautiful picture quality, front lens protection, and first class construction, zero loss of definition. If you have high quality lenses, and a hddslr , I believe these are the very best. Do not purchase the UV model. For digital, you want the Clear (007). Enjoy every pixel your sensor has to offer. Try just one. 5 |

20 years ago it was very difficult to light with soft light , now thanks to the advance in ISO (in digital cameras) it has become the norm. Fabric grids allows us to control and direct soft light. 5 |

This is my first foray into digital Hasselblad; I just received it today! I normally shoot with a 503CW, CFi lenses, and an A12 film back, so I wasn’t exactly certain what to expect. Aside from plugging it in before taking that bit of tape off the battery, getting it set up was a snap. It’s refreshing to be able to change iso without changing the back. I can meter the scene, set my iso on the screen, set my shutter and aperture on the lens, and shoot! The workflow is just like with film, except more flexible and seemingly limitless shots! It’s not obvious how to shoot with live preview and the electronic shutter while using the 503CW, but I’m confident that I’ll figure it out. 5 |
