Digital Camera Noise Removal

I was really struggling with noise removal on my podcast, and decided to finally invest in some quality cables. These were immediately worth the price - noise cut down to almost imperceptible levels immediately. I also appreciate the thinness of the cables. 5 |

Great true digital infrared photos by easy do-it-yourself removal of the infrared filter in my Sigma SD15 camera. Putting the SD15 filter back in to restore it back to normal is, for me, less easy but doable. 5 |

After reading a couple of reviewer's comments on this camera, I realized that these guys don't know what they're talking about. This camera is awesome, even at the higher ISOs. I've noticed that the Digic4 processor looks more like film than the hard look of digital and the little noise that it does produce, looks more like film grain rather than digital noise. The image clarity and realism is unprecedented in its class and at 15.1MP it is outstanding in the studio, capable of blow ups easily to 24x30 with not much interpolation at all. I have also done a flawless 40x50 with this camera. This is the best upgrade since the 20D replaced the 10D, actually its much better than that. 5 |

This camera is the perfect travel camera. Great fast lens and fast autofocus allow it to capture photos in museums without flash or worry. Even at the very dark International SPY Museum the pictures were beautiful with black blacks with no noise. 24-70mm is great and never miss longer lens because the speed of the lens is the thing. I alway leave the digital zoom turned off on every camera but not with this camera. The digital zoom is the best that I have seen and is totally useable. Shot a humming bird on a flower today using ClearImage Zoom and the noise is beautiful like a painting. Mechanical or Electric shutter is awesome. Electric shutter is totally silent and the Mechanical is a satisfying click. It has an Auto that I don't yet understand its function but I like it. The viewfinder is awesome even thought I don't use it very much, because the camera is soo good at getting the shot, but is great to review images with and even better if you need it to get a tricky shot. I even put it in a regular camera rig to test and it works just fine with a regular Zacuto Gratical viewfinder and Atomos Ninja monitor/recorder it is only missing an audio input to be a pro. I think that the battery last a long time but it is good to have a spare and the battery charger in the kit is a totally necessary accessory as is the case that is perfect. 5 |

This is simply a superb little camera. Just when you think Canon couldn't possibly out do itself they surprise you with a nice little gem like this SD780. The camera is exceedingly small, yet if you look at the specs for the dimensions it pretty much sizes up with a few other tiny digital point and shoots. But the smooth rounded styling and lack of any protrusions make it look and feel smaller that its stats would suggest. Personally, I prefer the all black finish. And the best thing is that Canon has still managed to keep the optical viewfinder no matter how small the camera seems to get! I don't really see a big difference, however in the 12.2 megapixels as opposed to only 5mp in the older SD400 and SD30 cameras. I like to shoot at ISO 80 whenever possible and especially in black & white, but that's just me. At this speed rating the picture quality is outstanding. The only real drawback is that noise begins to show up rather quickly at around 200 ISO and pretty much goes downhill from there. If visual noise is a trade off for more pixels, I think I would rather have fewer pixels and less noise. The HD video quality is also quite remarkable although I only used it a couple of times. This is a real great pocket camera to take along wherever you go. It's picture quality and performance leave the competition in the dust that even my digital SLR stays home collecting!! 5 |
