Digital Camera Public

I use it as a back up for my digital camera.

Camera is what it is, not going to comment on value or usefulness to the general camera using public. Biggest pro: The RAW images at 100 ISO can be pushed to extreme levels without losing any details or adding noise. Images may not be that impressive straight out of the camera, but you can literally do whatever you want with them in post. Your creative vision is the only limit. Biggest complaints: Manual exposure times are limited to 2 minutes at 100 ISO, and only get shorter as you increase the ISO. You can't turn off auto-noise reduction. Weird ghosting/flares if the sun is in the frame.

I was always nervous about using my camera out in public incase anyone tries to steal it from my hands, but since putting this on my camera, once i clipped it into the strap, it sets my mind at ease.

usage for this camera is exterior and on location fashion photography. we shoot in public places very discretely.

The reason I originally purchased this lens was to give me a discrete way of carrying my camera in public. Sometimes I didn't want a 24-70 hanging off the front of my camera, but still wanted the DSLR versatility. Primes make you think about things different, and thats why this is my middle of the day, going out in the city, harsh sunlight lens. It doesn't attract the attention a 2.8 zoom would. The 1.8 comes in handy sometimes too. Be tween the weight difference of the 35 1.4 and the price difference, it was an easy decision, and I made the right one.

Excellent product. Keeps dirt away from the bird and camera, and alerts the public a professional is at work. Requires practice to fold it, though!

As a long time DSLR user I've been waiting several years for a high quality compact camera. The minute I saw this camera it intrigued me enough to order it without waiting for press reviews. My use for the E-P1 has been for family, public photography (candids), and general advanced amateur usage. It doesn't make my kids cringe when I bring it out and when used in public doesn't merit a second glance from others. The photo quality is absolutely on-par with my DX sensor DSLR's. I was worried about the high ISO performance but have take some nice, sharp, detailed shots at ISO 1,250 and believe it performs better than my Nikon D200 (but not quite as well as my D90). Positives: - Great photo quality/IQ - Responsive and real-world quick - Great color rendition (in natural jpg mode) - Low profile, quiet - 14-42mm lens is sharp wide open at all focal lengths - Autofocus when using movie mode - Useful creative shooting modes Could be better: - Battery life - LiveView can generate heat - No jack to use external microphone - Grip patch on front is slicker than I'd like. Wish it were rubber The bottom line is that if you have wanted a compact camera that can go with you nearly anywhere, not attract attention and has full manual controls -- then this camera is worth serious consideration.

This review is a long time coming. I purchased my GH5s from B&H in 2019 and it has consistently yielded me superb images from HD to C4K. Pretty darned good for a five year old camera! I have been shooting every type of media content you can think of but this camera really shines when used for independent filmmaking. You can rig it out as sophisticated as you want or you can slap a 20 mm Panasonic pancake lens on the front and shoot fantastic cinema quality footage in public (stealth mode) without anyone the wiser! If you think I'm kiddin', just show up in public with a tricked out cinema rig and see what happens! People will interrupt your filming with comments ranging from Hey! Waddaya doin'? Makin' a movie? (DUH) or Do you have permission to film here? or, worse case scenario, people start heckling you by constantly yelling Action! Cut! or driving back and forth by your set honking the horn. Well, not anymore with this baby because when you have this camera scaled down in public, folks think you're just taking pictures (big deal!) and leave you alone. I love this camera and just used it yesterday for a nine minute indy shoot for an upcoming film festival and the video footage still looks amazing, even at HD! There's a reason this camera still costs over 2K! Investigation Discovery Channel filmmakers use this camera for their network content. No surprise there!
