Digital Camera Raw Compatibility Update

I think this is a must for Leica Q3 owners and I would update the compatibility chart with something like “partial compatibility”. The minor issues around the SD card slot are pretty inconsequential given the Q3 supports transferring photos over USB and the FOTOS app. Holding the camera with the clutch and replacing the default strap with the leash is a huge quality of life improvement. Could not imagine using a Q camera without the clutch now.

I purchased the camera to take pictures of my pastel work to produce prints from and I have been out and about with the camera since I bought it.I shoot with RAW files, so if you have Photoshop, beware that you can only use CS4 versions of the program with the update at Adobe's site. The Pentax program is cumbersome and slow.My decision to go with the Pentax was user interface and having quite a bit of older lenses from my SLR days. The lenses are 25+ years old, in perfect conidition and they work with the Kx's aperture setting if you set them in A mode. So that was a plus for me ... The Kit lens is fun for auto focus, but its a plastic mount. I bike the city a lot in Baltimore so Im always on the move with the camera since I got it. Invest in a better lens rather than the kit lenses with more than the 18-55mm. It will be worth if you swap a lot and wear on the mount is an issue.... I was on the fence with this and the Rebel XSi, but after holding the Canon in my hand, I felt the Kx was super solid, feels great, and it a dream to use compared to the XSi.The only downfall I hear is battery life. Well you need to update the firmware on the camera and it will show an accurate battery level indicator on the display. I got about 400 shots on the included batteries in RAW format with only 40-50 using the flash before they died. If you update the firmware and you use a Mac, you need to have a seperate SD card reader as the 10.6 OS on the Mac will not let you copy the firmware file to the camera. (I havent figured it out, but if you are Mac savy, you should be able to do this without an additional card reader).If you are considering this camera at all, buy it. The Video is better than almost all in this level of camera and it works with your old K-mount lenses!

adobe camera raw still does not have a correction profile for this as of september 2020. Hopefully they update it soon. Otherwise a stellar value for the zoom range offered.

While digital technologies continue to be perfected with professional camera use and their widespread applications, the latest Sony RX1RII fixed Zeiss lens camera (other cameras allow long-lens variants) exceeds expectations, especially when printing work on a large scale (with the Epson Stylus Pro 9900). While some relatively minor imperfections exist as with all cameras that professionals adjust to, the expansive quality of color, remarkable low-light resolution, extraordinary image quality and virtual unlimited visual potentials provide challenges that move into unchartered territory for artists (see attached site-specific photographic installation of 112x152cm prints). The most problematic issue is not Sony's: Adobe Photoshop has abandoned the long supporting professional community by not making a plug-in for this camera's RAW files (ARW in Sony terms). Two alternatives: 1) join the CC monthly feed of Adobe Photoshop (APS), abandoning the experienced professional use of all former Photoshop versions, or 2) for 99$ purchase the most basic APS Elements software that notes the Sony RX1RII RAW files are supported, at least noted in Elements literature. What a way to treat loyal professionals and Sony over the years, claiming that CC is better without meaningful details justifying the obvious money first, customer second policy for purchasing the CC version. Not mentioning inevitable future rises in CC prices, non-copyright protections in-Cloud, and not allowing printing in your studio with your own APS, even when CC RAW is tiff converted. Sony's RX1RII with Zeiss lens and its internal digital processor chip is remarkable for what the eye can see (numerous professional digital cameras now exceed what can be seen without mention), even with the rare if not unprecedented 600$ additional cost recently by Sony.

This paper was bought for an introduction to digital photography class. I'm not new at photography, but I am new at printing and editing through camera RAW. This paper was easy to use and came out clean and clear.

I bought this camera to update and supplement my EOS Digital system from my original 5D, for the benefits of improved image size, image quality, the new focusing system the built-in GPS and a few more minor changes. This camera will be my main stay camera for my pending Alaska/Canada cruise tour. Having taken it on the road to run it through its paces, I have found it easy to adjust to. I am still learning the finer aspects of the improvements, but it feels natural in my hands like an old friend.

Bought this to update 35mm f1.4 Art lens firmware for compatibility with D810. Also used it to adjust focus setting for use on D810 and D800E. Simple, easy and quick to use. If Nikon took this approach we wouldn't have to send the new 300mm f4 PF to a repair center for a simple lens firmware update.

Excellent quality, easy installation, no problems with BIOS update and compatibility. My fourth ASUS board over the last 15 years, always trouble free the life of the build.

Although I wish this update was Free... The quality and price you get for the GH4 is UN-BEATABLE! Adding this upgrade for only $100 more is totally worth it. Since the camera doesn't shoot 4K RAW like the more expensive cameras, this new V-Log function gets you closer to having more control like in RAW. I was blown away with the first footage I shot with it and can't wait to keep using it!

This is a C-41 film, which I prefer nowadays because of its speed, moderate to low grain, and compatibility with Digital Ice and other dust & scratch removal software. This film yields excellent tonal range.
