Digital Camera Scanner Software

“This is a review for the Epson DS-575W II Wireless Color Duplex Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.” I love how easy set up was for this scanner. It is really compact and does not take up much space on my desk. The digital software, built into the unit, automatically performs some color correction to each photo and does that fairly well. This scanner also scans negatives, slides and does a wonderful job doing it. The scanning speed is super fast I would say about thirty pages a minute. The document-feeder works great, accurately separating pages & feeding them through quickly. I would highly recommend this scanner to anyone.

I tried a less expensive slide scanner, and the OpticFilm has proven far superior --- much better value for the money. I am using it to convert old 35 mm Kodacolor slides into digital format. The scans give results comparable to the quality of the original slides. The software, although initially appearing daunting, is excellent and provides various ways to tweak the scans to produce the best possible digital image. The software includes a real-time tutorial that guides you through all phases of correcting a scan, or you can use the software without assistance, as your skill level dictates. The time it takes to produce a final digital copy of a slide varies with how much you want to adjust the various qualities. This can vary from a minute or two if you use the automatic correction feature, to 5 or 10 minutes per slide if you want to do a lot of adjustments. I especially like the dust and scratch removal tool. This is a great product, both hardware and software, and I understand it is used by library achivests. I had a little trouble loading the software, as the dialogue boxes did not appear as indicated in the instructions, but I was able to load ok it manually.

So far the scanner is easy to use. I wish it had better software but will need to purchase one...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Epson WorkForce ES-580W Scanner is an excellent document scanner. Setup and software install was straightforward. The software is user-friendly, it allows you to name, save, and direct the pdf files. It will also automatically rotate the document 180 degrees, no matter how you feed it. I love that I can scan any document size and type; from receipts to legal format documents to newspaper clippings. The scanner is very fast, at 35 pages per minute. The scan quality is very good. The Epson WorkForce ES-580W Scanner an excellent scanner. I highly recommend.

This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-300WR Wireless Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. A fantastic Buy. The price was several hundred less than other fast comparable scanners. The Epson software works very good, but does take a little work to fully understand. The scanner is very fast and produces extremely good results for the speed. The included software helps to define better looking results. The setup is so easy, just go Wireless, and your all set. I can scan from any of the three computers that I have in my office. I only need One Scanner, but I know that I bought the Best One Out There. This is my First Epson Product but I am very pleased with the performance and the results. I woudl highly recommend this Scanner to Others needing a fast business scanner.

I have had the Epson's in the past for flat bed, but my dedicated film scanner was dead and needed a new solution. Looked at dedicated film scanners again but to add the capability of 120 took the price point wait out. I read the reviews on teh V750 and decided to get the V850 (newer model) I was not disappointed at all. First thing I did was compare scans from V850 to my old dedicated film, I was pretty upset at the results. I have to rescan everything I did on the old film, it's that much better. That was using just the epson default software to scan. Once I tested the difference between SilverFast and the Epson software, it clintched it that I would be rescanning everything I've ever done using the the SilverFast on the V850... I then did a quick couple scans on the 120. once again I was not let down, the V850 handles it. The film holders are not perfect, but as I tested on 6x6,6x7 and 6x4.5 I realized why they are the way they are... I recommend this to anyone who needs a scanner... but even more who need one for every use. Attached is photo of V850 compared to old Canon FS4000 film scanner.
