Digital Camera Slide Scanner

We decided to purchase this scanner instead of sinking money into a refurbished slide projector. It was the best decision. In addition to capturing a digital file of all of my grandfather and great-grandfathers slides, we now have digital images of all their negatives and pictures for which no slides existed. The scanner and the software were easy to use and intuitive. Best purchase in the last year!

I tried a less expensive slide scanner, and the OpticFilm has proven far superior --- much better value for the money. I am using it to convert old 35 mm Kodacolor slides into digital format. The scans give results comparable to the quality of the original slides. The software, although initially appearing daunting, is excellent and provides various ways to tweak the scans to produce the best possible digital image. The software includes a real-time tutorial that guides you through all phases of correcting a scan, or you can use the software without assistance, as your skill level dictates. The time it takes to produce a final digital copy of a slide varies with how much you want to adjust the various qualities. This can vary from a minute or two if you use the automatic correction feature, to 5 or 10 minutes per slide if you want to do a lot of adjustments. I especially like the dust and scratch removal tool. This is a great product, both hardware and software, and I understand it is used by library achivests. I had a little trouble loading the software, as the dialogue boxes did not appear as indicated in the instructions, but I was able to load ok it manually.

I had done my slides on a flat-bed scanner. This Wolverine scanner is a pleasure to work with. Slide one slide in, press scan, press OK, repeat for the each subsequent slide. Very easy and very fast.

Lots of slides to digitize. This is a siimple device: a digital camera inside a box that simply takes a photo of the color slide! The biggest problem now is simply cleaning the slide before scanning (photographing) it.

I love my PD Slide, which came with anchors I attached to my primary (digital) camera. After I got it, every time I shot with my film cameras that had different straps on them I missed the Slide strap. Eventually I just decided to anchor all my cameras and have only one strap, the PD Slide, which I switch to whatever camera I'm using. I've never been happier, it works great and makes all my cameras easier to store and prettier to look at. The anchors are strong, discreet, and last years. I have full trust in them, even in the wildest of weather conditions (freezing, snowing, raining, hot and dry).

Love my slide lite. I received a new Nikon digital camera and barely would take it with me as the neck strap caused me pain, along with it being uncomfortable having it in front of me all the time. I did an extensive internet search and read tons of reviews and decided on the slide lite and boy am I a happy camper. I went to Florida recently and took my camera everywhere. I loved that I could carry it crossbody and felt it was safe and secure. It was a breeze to slide it up to snap pictures. I also love that there are several positions for the clips and they are very well made that I am not afraid they will snap or crack. This is my first purchase from Peak Design and have been looking to purchase another item or 2 in the future. I highly recommend the slide lite!

Makes copying a slide to digital image quick and easy

Great little scanner - very fast! We are going to an all digital office, and this fits the bill nicely!
