This device serves two functions on the hot shoe of my Sony RX10M3. It isolates the legacy strobes high voltage sync of more than 25V to a digital camera that typically cannot tolerate more than a 3V sync signal. And it also allows syncs standard studio strobes to a digital camera that normally sends out a pre-flash before the main flash. In my testing, it set off standard slave flash units correctly. Plus it provides a PC sync cord connection for legacy cords using that connection to the camera. 5 |

An excellent product from Western Digital. Just don't make the mistake of letting it sync your data--use none of their programs, and just use it like a giant flash drive. I once had a nightmare sync using their programs where the external mirrored my hard drive, where I had accidentally deleted large amounts of personal data. But used as storage, excellent! And a nice red color. 5 |
