Cool Features, like Panorama maker on the camera, beauty shot, Camera Mode w/digital zoom during video option. Shutter Speed is exteremly fast almost instant, great for capturing those fastmoving moments. Batter Life about 600+ pictures with flash, Re-charable Ion Battery. 5 |

The Black and White Mode is the first real film look i have found in any professional digital camera paired with the metal body, size and overall rangefinder design with the addition of the mode dial have all restored the digital camera back into the long historical evolution of the street photographer's camera. 5 |

Extremely easy to learn how to use. Great buy for what you get. Auto is the easiest mode and photos look as any I have ever taken with a digital camera. Love the way you can see the image in very low light. 12X zoom the best I've had in a digital camera. Get a 8gig card and the picture are endless.... There price was the best around. Would definately purchase again. 5 |

The Canon PowerShot SD 780 IS has got to be the ultimate high quality really compact camera. The deciding factor for me buying this camera was size. You really can carry this camera 24/7 and get very good photographs anytime everytime. I take almost all photos in available light and the 800 and 1600 ISO indexes generate surprisingly good results. The image stabilization and excellent ergonomics result in sharp photos at hand held 1/8 second shutter speeds! I prefer using the camera in the semiautomatic P mode and take about 95% of my pics in this mode. The automatic mode seems to work ok, but I really haven't used this mode much. As for digital zoom, they should have never included it because the quality degradation makes it all but useless. Obviously, this is true with all digital zoom implementations because all you are doing is reducing the effective sensor size. There are tons of features including an optical viewfinder which is great for fast shots. I've tried most features and everything is generally easy to do, but you should read the manual two or three times if you want to do more than just point and shoot pictures. The only improvement I would like to see on this camera is a faster lens. A f/1.4 or f/2 lens would open up huge new photo possibilities. Some day someone will figure out how to do this and still keep the camera small. But for now, buy it; you won't be disappointed. 5 |

The microscope (macro) mode on this camera is amazing by itself for how much the camera is. Adding the light to it makes it so much better! You can put the camera straight up to something, and it will turn out. The light does not oversaturate at all. We just keep this on the camera at all times, it even looks cool with it! 5 |

I do everything from close up macro photography to panographs to portraits. I was amazed at the different positions this tripod will work in. The arm can be tilted to where the camera is directly above coins on a table for macro work. My panos are also much better with the smooth panning & the quick change from portrait mode to lanscape mode the the pistol grip. For panos I had the camera and a slider assembly for parallax correction. Even with this weight in portrait mode with the camera tilted to the side of the tripod everything was stable & smooth. 5 |

In checking out the camera and lens, both in regular photography and macro mode, it really does a nice job. It is a bit complicated to learn all the stuff it can do but I do not consider that a downside. I actually consider it to be an indication of the many, many capabilities of the camera. I really like it a lot. 5 |

This Pelican case is very rugged and just what I was looking for to carry my large format digital camera and one large macro lens. There was also room for my filters (Lee) and various accessories. 5 |

Negative Supply makes a very comprehensive system for scanning film in all formats by using a digital camera and a macro lens. I needed to scan 35mm, so I bought the 35mm LED light source, the 35mm Pro Film Carrier, and the Basic Riser (to which I mounted my digital camera). Everything worked perfectly! By using this system, negatives can be scanned quite quickly, doing an entire roll in a few minutes. Mounting the camera on the riser makes the camera perfectly parallel to the film. The film carrier keeps the film flat and, combined for a good macro lens, my scans were very sharp. Negative Supply's website (www.negative.supply) has a complete explanation of the entire system, including videos on how the various components work. 5 |
