Digital Camera Without Shutter Delay

I used to use the older RC-5, but it had a 2-second delay. The RC-6 allows for immediate shutter release. There's no set up required with the camera; just turn the camera to self-timer mode, set the RC-6 to immediate release (button on the back), and you're ready. Good value for the money. I use it all the time.

This is a great way to release the shutter on a Canon camera without touching it. How it interfaces with the camera depends on the camera model. The prior model would only work with a two-second delay during which time the mirror inexplicably stayed down. Now you can defeat the delay and/or combine it with mirror lockup. One good thing not documented that I can see is that in live view mode one press of the button on this wireless will trigger all exposures in a sequence (e.g., for HDR.) One very dumb thing: the receiver for the wireless signal on the camera is on the front but the photographer is almost always going to be behind it. Why not two receivers? How much could that cost?

It's straightforward. A remote button to trip the shutter, usually on a 2 or 10 second delay. You have to use it from the front of the camera. Does its job.

I had to eliminate shutter release vibration by using my camera's (DSLR) 2 second shutter delay, which reset to instantaneous release after every shot. This required a lot of menu selection between each shot. All this could have been avoided with the remote control.

Easy to plug in and you don't need to use the shutter time delay

Good quality parts, no delay in shutter press, came with two different cord types.

For all of us who cannot spend the money on the Lecia, Pentax gives us a wonderful Monochrome digital camera. Based on the K3 chassis it is a Monochrome only Pentax K-3 Mark iii. It is an APS-C professional-level camera. With excellent ergonomics that Pentax is known for. Yes everyone is dashing off on mirrorless but the bright, eyeglass-friendly viewfinder is wonderful. With a nice catalog of lenses, this is a black-and-white camera that can be used in any situation. Finally black and white with excellent fine resolution, usable high ISO, and professional grade. The images have fine detail, highlights, and shadows. Easy-to-use menus and settings that address every situation you may encounter. For those who remember all those color filters for black and white are usable to manipulate the the images before tripping the shutter button. Two things to consider. LCD panel does not flip up or rotate. I use a Ref a right angle viewfinder by Pentax. It works well on all the 35mm Pentax cameras and some other brands. It rotates and has a 2x setting which is nice for macro. The other thing I have noticed is the very sensitive shutter button. It has a very sensitive and short motion to trip the shutter. I can highly recommend this camera to anyone who wants to do Monochrome. You will not be disappointed Monochrome is far from a niche place in photography. You see it in many venues. It is not limited now to the conversion of color digital or shooting film. We now have a well thought out Monochrome from Pentax at a more palatable price than Lecia.

Works great. Can be used in either a direct shutter control or with a 2 second delay. I've only used it twice, one indoors and one outdoor at night. Both times, it triggered the shutter just fine without any trouble. The only room for improvement would be to move the shutter select to a more convenient location, rather than on the back.

This works perfectly with my T2i. I especially like the choice of instant shutter release, or 2 second delay via a small slider on the back of the control. And it doesn't take up room in my bag, or weigh but a feather!

I was surprized and pleased to find that the ShutterBoss does more than just actuate the shutter. Using the remote I can also make a delay so that when I am taking a picture of myself, I have time to place the clicker out of sight. There are several other actions that I do, I haven't explored them yet. I am using this on a Nikon D7200.
