Digital Video Camera Brands

I have been a photographer all my life and used many different brands and models of both film and digital cameras. In recent years, I developed a bad back and wanted a much lighter package than heavily DSLs to carry around. iPhones, though good, don’t always cut it. I used micro four-thirds for a while but even though were too heavy. After much trial and error, I decided on the Sony DSC-RX100VA. It is light weight (about 10 ounces), makes excellent photos (I always use RAW), has a very fast lens, a real viewfinder and a small flash. Battery life is not great, but there are always some tradeoffs with any camera. Always carry at least one extra battery. After much research, I think I have the best small camera made with an ideal feature set for me. The optional pistol grip is quite useful and recommended. 5 |

The case is being used for my SONY.. digital HD video camera recorder. It is big so that it will fix and room for digital camera, the ligths, etc... So far (4-5) producer, would like to have one now. 5 |

I debated back and forth about investing in a Canon system vs the other brands, full-frame vs cropped, etc. I am 100% pleased with this camera for both photos and video. Auto-tracking is amazing for portrait work and fast-moving people in videos. I've never had any overheating issues while doing video. This camera does really well in lower light situations where my previous 4:3 mirrorless fell short. I love it!! 5 |

I purchased this as my backup and knock around for my other Pentax cameras. Being able to use my older and newer K mount lenses is a big plus. The Kx is easy to use and learn. Slightly smaller body than other brands but just as capable. Having the internal image stabilizer makes any lens better. Takes AA batteries so in a pinch you can find those anywhere. The panoramic feature works much better than expected. The only draw back is no one makes a battery grip and if you have large hands the Kx may be a bit small. Being able to shoot in JPEG and RAW is handy. It may be to good because my wife and son seemed to have more than me. Don't let the price or being the other brand keep you from it. If you are looking at it as a first camera or add to your Pentax collection don't hesitate. Just a bit of noise if you push the iso to its upper settings, but so do the other brands at this level. I don't use the video so I won't comment on that. I have a video camera for that. Even with a few shortcomings I give it a 5 star against similar level cameras. 5 |

I needed a video tripod but didn't have a huge budget so brands like my Manfrotto camera tripod were out of the question. As I researched the B&H site, I came across this one and it seemed to fit the bill for what I needed. Frankly, for the price, I didn't expect such quality, but was pleasantly surprised when it arrived and I took it out of the included carry case. The fluid head moved very smoothly and there are more than enough adjustment and tightening knobs to effectively lock it down solid. I did experience some movement in the legs if I put pressure on them, but using the included hex wrenches I as able to tighten the lock levers and fix that. It has enough heft to stay stable and there's no camera shake. All in all, a great deal. Highly recommend. 5 |

I've had 10 different digital cameras. I've done professional video and stills throughout my working life. My G9II (and Gh6) is the best camera I've ever used. The AF on the G9II for BIF and sports is extremely good. The video is a professional grade documentary or B roll cinema camera. Pair it with Panasonic PL grade lenses and it becomes a tool with which you can do your best work. The handheld hires is amazing. 5 |
