Great router, access point, repeater, etc.. with Wifi 7 router on the way, this is still a contender.

Setup was really easy using my existing wifi router, and this single access point is covering the top two floors of my house (3,200 sqft). Very impressive product!

This is a great product. It's waaaaay better than my ISP-provided modem/router/spaceheater/Access Point, and it's much more reliable. I do wish that this had a couple of PoE ports built-in.

The Synology RT6600 is a fantastic WiFi 6 Router and WiFi Access Point. Has many features that are for a more professional type of deployment in a SMB type environment while still being user friendly and approachable for just about anybody.

The EdgeRouterX provides enterprise features including gigabit Ethernet, VLANs, DNS forwarding, a DHCP server and even a VPN server for your small home network at a consumer price. I paired mine with an Ubiquiti wireless access point for a complete home networking solution. The EdgeRouter X even provides PoE pass through to power my access point (note: this is not negotiated PoE, so you must make sure any device you will connect to port 4 on the router is compatible with pass through PoE before enabling the feature on the router).

I use this as an access point which is wired by ethernet to my primary synology router. I love the software and log capability of this. Functions for more than a year now without a hiccup.

I purchased this router along with a UAP-AC-LR access point. They work great together and the configuration allows me to power both units with a single power brick. At some point I may get a second access point, and this configuration allows for some expansion. In terms of setup, there are a wizards which will allow you to get up and running quickly. I personally did not find find this router's GUI any more confusing than others that I have used. Setting up any wireless network takes some fiddling, so if you are having trouble figuring things out yourself, ask your tech savvy friend for help! One thing I will say is that this router does allow for one to shoot themselves in the foot due to its vast configuration options. My router is connected directly to a CenturyLink fiber box for internet. This requires somewhat of a custom setup as it uses PPPoE and a special VLAN setting. Well, it turns out that after setting all of that up, I had somehow disabled the firewall and did not realize it until I saw a couple of failed login attempts in the security log. Long story short is to double check your settings before heading out to lunch :) Oh, and stability is amazing :) I am currently showing 2 weeks and 6 days of up time and still trucking along strong. Overall, it seems that building a home network using a separate router and access points is the way to go. I am very happy that I decided to move away from the all-in-one model.

This is a fantastic Access Point. You still need a router so this device can allow clients to connect and assign them an IP. Netgear insight portal is convenient and easy to use. Highly recommend it.

I decided to upgrade from my $100 SOHO wireless router to something more advanced and versatile. I was looking at going pure Unifi as I'm familiar with the line from work, but the cost of the gateway, a switch, and access point was higher than I wanted to go. I don't need all the bells and whistles the Unifi interface gives you, and with only one access point to manage it's not hard to take care of without the controller. This router gives me plenty of ports and I am powering the router with a PoE injector (running the network connection from my modem into the injector and then the PoE line into port 1 on the router) and then powering the access point off of the PoE passthrough port. It was easy to set up and has been functioning as expected. So far I'm very happy with this upgrade!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Router has worked well, and we were able to easily connect an access point.
