I ordered this external disc drive since the new Apple laptops don't have an internal drive. This drive has worked perfectly so far. 5 |

This is 16x blu-ray drive from LG compatible with M-DISC disk. This is OEM version. So, it is barebone drive. No software included but it is plug-n-play with Windows 10. This drive is pretty quiet during operation. 5 |

After reading a review that this drive did not work with Catalina, I was concerned, but couldn't find a good alternative. B&H said I could return it if it did not work, so I got it. After I gently blew out 4 years of dust from my late 2013 garbage can style Mac Pro with an air compressor, installation of the drive with heat sink was a breeze. My old drive was shot and I was booting from a system disc with Catalina on an external 500 gig SSD from Lacie. I had reinstalled all new software on this drive and it booted the Mac Pro fine, but I wanted an internal drive. After adding the 1 TB Aura Pro X2, and formatting it using the macs utilities as specified by OWC, I used Carbon Copy Cloner (CCC) to clone the Lacie system disc to it. (Time Machine was not able to clone to an internal drive - only from it - as I understand this). Choosing the new internal drive as my new startup disc, I restarted. However, I did not see the new drive, just the Lacie. Thinking it wasn't working, I rebooted again. Same thing. Then I remembered that in this OS, you have to choose to show the internal drive on the desktop. Once I did that, it showed up on the desktop and was indeed my startup disc. Bottom line - this drive works with Catalina. 5 |

Love this, no more editing on external disc drive, this SSD is just like having zillion of space on the computer. My Mac Studio has 4 To but sometimes I end-up having to edit multiple projet around the same period. I used to edit on a 8 To disc drive but it's just anoying when it pauses and you have to wait for it to wake up... 5 |

I am not technologically challenged but I not a plugged in guru either. I bought this drive to back up my MacBook so I can change out the full disc. The instructions were easy to follow and concise. I had no problems. 5 |

Needed to get some old programs (on disc) loaded and my new zen laptop has no disc drive. This did the job. Looks good, thin and most important it works well. Also got a 10.00 rebate. 5 |

I bought an Apple disc drive to rip music from a CD for my Apple MacBook Air, and it wouldn't work with my other dongle. I bought this attachment and was able to import my CD no problem! 5 |

Works great. Houses an internal disc drive. Does what it needs to. I suggest using your own cord. I used it for my Macbook pro 15 2011 disc drive I pulled to do a data doubler for it. I don't think the size of laptop matters. It does everything that your original disc drive did in your computer. I heard a lot of complaints about it not working with the DVD app on El Capitan. For me, it worked perfect. I suggest it. It's even cheaper at B&H ($18) than at Amazon ($40). Easy to install, took maybe 10 minutes at most, but I did have to read the instructions to find the screw holes, which were a little tricky to find. It looks pretty good as well, and it's pretty compact. I haven't traveled with it, but my only concern is maybe it might get scratched easily. I currently have it plugged into my iMac. One of my biggest reasons to get it was because I have two computers, so one doesn't have a disc drive, so I decided it would be good to take my macbook pro disc drive out and replace it with a hard drive and that way I can use the disc drive on both computers. 5 |

This drive cost me 123 dollars it was worth it. The drive is quiet I haven't lost any blank bd-r disc yet and I used 43 disc. It appears I have the latest firmware so it probably means I didn't get a burner that was sitting on the shelf forever. Good job B&H and I won't hesitate to buy products from you down the road. I highly recommend it. 5 |

I will be using this hard drive for my main working disc for photo and video editing between three computers and an iPad. It's been perfect so far. No complaints whatsoever. Sure it would be nice if it didn't cost a buck, but it's definitely a better value than the 2 TB offering and faster than anything that I've seen in this price range. SanDisk has some offerings worth considering if you don't need this much speed, but I do want to point out that both companies include 5 year warranties on most of their professional drives, and Lacie/ Seagate includes 5 years of date recovery too. My other issue with the best bus-powered SanDisk drive currently is that is that my Macs won't support 20 Gbps bandwidth via USB-C. Only 10... so you're paying for extra performance that you can't use if you're machine doesn't support the latest USB (not Thunderbolt 3/4). 5 |
