My new Lenovo laptop came with a mini-display port and not an HDMI output. This is an essential accessory for MDP--in my case it allowed me to hook the laptop to the HDMI input on my monitor. And yes, it carries both audio and video, which is not clear in the product description. 5 |

This cable works. Nothing else to say; it's a cable. Display port is on the computer end, DVI on the monitor end. 5 |

This monitor has display port interface and cable included. Works well, and is a good value. 5 |

I needed a compact, simple, high-quality, secondary display to sit beside my main monitor. I very much wanted a portable monitor, but not to actually carry around with me, just not an ordinary display with the clutter of power cord/stand/etc. It will mostly be sitting in one place, but the nature of my work involves frequent changes to all the hardware connected to my system, so a degree of portability is great. What I also didn't really want was the usual origami case/cover/stand that comes with most portable monitors. I think they're great, but just not right for this particular usage. Before the Lenovo I tried an Asus Zenscreen, which was pretty awesome, but had a battery (great for true portable use!) but wouldn't power-up if the battery needed charging, which is a hassle I don't need. The Asus also had an HDMI input, which the Lenovo lacks, and also built-in speakers (if I recall correctly). Again, for true portable use, the speakers are almost a must-have, so for some people the Lenovo won't fit the bill. The lack of HDMI support is a little disappointing, for sure, but even though I would have made use of it, it also wasn't a deal breaker (for me). So, yes, if all you need is the display, and your computer/device supports video over USB-C, this is a great option. Minor gripe is the straight plug and length of the supplied USB-C cable. A right-angled plug and another foot or so of length would have been much better. I had to buy a separate cable, and (as I discovered the hard way!) not many USB-C cables support the alt mode of Displayport-over-USB, and the correct cable wasn't cheap! For me, in this particular scenario, this Lenovo is pretty much perfect. For some people it may be a little too basic, so for those people I'd say try the Asus. 5 |

This is a perfect must have. Especially since my gaming laptop didn't have a Standard Display Port and I was in a dire need more a mini display port to display port cable 5 |

There are many good monitors but the lacks the MinidisplayPort needed for a Mac. With this cable Display Port to MinidisplayPort the problem is solved. I works perfect with the maximum definition 4K 60Hz. 5 |

This dock is absolutely worth it. I have dual 1440p monitors (one Apple Thunderbolt Display and one Cinema Display), both are running perfectly at 60 hz via adapters. I keep an external SSD plugged into the 10 gbps port and get great consistent speeds. No problem getting sustained full gigabit speeds over the Ethernet port. I often get handed SD cards by my colleagues to offload media to our servers. Those transfers are fast with the UHS-II card reader. USB thumb drives are also so handed to me frequently, these get plugged in the front USB ports. All this AND I get 87 watts of power to my laptop. Now I can unplug just one cable if I have to go to a meeting or do a video call in another room. The CalDigit software that ejects everything with one click is nice as well. In short, my laptop becomes a desktop with just one cable. This is the best purchase you can make for your mac if you use it in a professional environment. If you’re on the fence, just buy it. It’s better than all other options on the market at the time of this writing (August 2020). 5 |

Which one should you be using? Both types serve the same purpose, but when you get a monitor, graphics card, or TV higher than 4K, that's when the big advantage of the Display comes in. While HDMI is still stuck at 8K, 60Hz, the Display Port is a ridiculous 8K, 120Hz or 16K, 60 Hz, so, as for SPEED, the Display Port takes the lead!. BUT...the advantages of this incredible speed and resolution, is something that most regular consumers won't see anytime soon. as they move very slowly to newer technology. The lock in teeth is great, as long as you take care of installing this cable where there would not be any possibility of someone tripping on the cable. I'm a video editor and I'm using this cable with a NVIDIA GTX 1650 D6 Ventus XS graphics card. This Pearstone Display Port cable, what I also like is that is very flexible. Some HDMI cables I have, they are very stiff, causing a bit of stress on the ports. A softer cable is always preferred for that matter. It does the job and I'm pleased. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This display port is a handy device if you have a mini display port-enabled device and a HDMI cable. I use it in conjunction with my HDMI monitor and my Belkin male to female Mini Display port to HDMI adapter. It makes streaming high-quality video and audio from many devices including: laptops, desktops and tablets that are enabled with a mini display port output that has a HDMI television or computer monitor using a separate HDMI cable which is not included. 5 |
