Displayport Cable While Macbook Is Closed

I bought this cable because I was having an intermittent problem with my M1 MacBook Air freezing, showing pink screen, then resetting when connected to an external monitor. I read somewhere that using a DisplayPort cable rather than the HDMI one that I was using would help (perhaps the HDMI cable was causing the problem?). Anyway, the DisplayPort cable works fine and the Freeze/Reset problem has not recurred - so far.

I have this switch set up to allow me to switch between a Retina MacBook Pro and my tower gaming PC with Nvidia GTX 1070 graphics card, and it performs the job very well. Previously I had a similar setup using an IOGear DVI+USB KVM switch between MacBook Pro and my older tower PC, with just a DVI-to-DisplayPort adapter on the video cable to the Mac. For the new setup I bought a DisplayPort-to-mini-DisplayPort cable for the Mac (could have used an adapter but the cable was $10 and it's less... lumpy... this way.) I've only been using it for a week or so, but it's working great! Comes with all cables, which seem to be solid quality, and fully bus-powered - small and light but seems well made. The older IOGear DVI+USB2 switch wasn't as expensive as this when it was new, but I guess that's the price I pay for going 4K. I did my usual research on all available DisplayPort + USB switch options before selecting this one, and I'm pretty sure I made the right choice here. If you're trying to drive a 2K or 4K monitor from two DisplayPort-equipped machines and share a mouse and keyboard between them, this is the ticket.

The Pearstone USB C to DisplayPort 4k Cable (15') is a super long well made cable. I primarily use this cable to run a preview monitor from my MacBook pro to a client or other crew member. It keeps extra people out of the main area where I am working and it does a great job of this since it's so long. Most of the high-functional docks are meant for MacBook Airs or Pros. This dock works well for an older MacBook 12 and allows it to extend high-quality display to an external monitor that takes DisplayPort. I have not been able to find any other dock that serves a MacBook 12 that also has a DisplayPort. Having 3 USB Type-A ports is also a big plus.

I had a tricky time getting it connected to my 2019 MacBook Pro. I could not get it connected with usb-c connection. I used a DisplayPort to USB-C connection. I had to use my iPad to change the DisplayPort connection settings in the monitor from 1.4 to 1.2. After I made that change the monitor works perfectly.

It's always better to have single cable, than to use an adapter and a cable. This one does the job of connecting a DisplayPort to HDMI device.

While this cable costs more, it is well made and robust.

This is an outstanding microphone for micing a closed lid on a grand piano. While we don't need a microphone to enhance the sound in the church sanctuary it is needed to supply sound to monitors and the streaming signal. We have been using the M40 for several years and when the old one failed we immediately purchase a new one.

It is what it is. It's a Thunderbolt Cable, which is a hardware interface that combines PCI Express and DisplayPort into one signal.

When I want to use my Macbook Pro with a external monitor with the cover closed the Magic Keyboard is a must. It is light, the battery last a lot before it is necessary to charge it.
