Very fine focus and is going to be touchy until you get used to the feel. There is no motor, just the glass and you. If you use this as your main lens you'll be able to pull focus on anything thrown at you. Tough, but very rewarding. Very sharp and colorless to my eye. Using with the Canon 16-35mm L2 and the Canon 70-200mm L. Works flawlessly on Canon D5 MK3. If used for running and gunning or in the bush, get a UV or clear to protect the glass. So far I have used on green screens, water special effects shots, smoke, fire, running water, wildlife, and Day/night time lapse. No issues with coloration or distortion. Buy this lens first.

Within 5 minutes I had the camera out of the box and into the fish tank. Then it was on the dog. The horse. The car. Me. The SJ4000 didn't disappoint me in all the ways I wanted to use it straight out of the box.
