Do 7.1 Receivers Support 5.1 And Stereo Sound

We bought a pair of these specifically for the den Roku TV. We were not going to put a 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound system in there but we wanted much better sound than just the TV and these deliver! Fantastic sound and beyond EASY to set up. We could not be happier.

Good quality unit. Sounds good for what it is (e.g. Didn't expect sound quality of a 5.1 or 7.1 system with full speakers.) Works well overall. No complaints.

I use this device in conjunction with Logic Pro on a 2021 MBP to record, mix, monitor, and master in stereo and sometimes 5.1, mostly for video soundtracks. It has a clear, clean, open sound that accurately reflects even subtle changes in mix and plugin settings. The accompanying TotalMix software has very powerful routing options, and once it is configured, makes it easy to switch between stereo and 5.1. For those relatively new to recording and mixing, be aware that this is a professional grade tool. For what it can do, it is very simple to operate, but you can expect a learning curve to absorb the concepts behind TotalMix. That doesn't mean not to buy it, it is completely worth taking the time to learn, and RME has outstanding tutorials. For more of a plug-and-play experience in Logic that will also deliver fine sound but with fewer input and routing options, look to Apogee.

Mic Preamps sound sweet and clean and will let the character of your mic shine through. The build is solid, and the knob and buttons have a nice click to them. It has a dazzling number of inputs and outputs for its size, and TotalMix gives the user super powerful routing options. Once configured, TotalMix makes it easy to jump between stereo and 5.1. My only caveat is that this is a professional tool, and if you are relatively new to this line of work, there will be a learning curve to understand all of the options the interface has and the concepts behind TotalMix. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't buy it, it is 100% worth it to take the time to learn, and RME has excellent tutorials. This interface will honestly represent what you play through it and will give you the power to create the recording you envision.

The breadth of capability with DSM 7.1 and the excellent technical support make this a great system.

This is a stereo pair of Fives...Outstanding sound! A special shout out to Sonos support. They sent me both Fives for FREE after my one of my 5+ year-old Play:5's developed an issue with the wifi board. Waived the warranty expiration and paid for all shipping. Support second to none!!!

I use this to connect my iphone to systems that support the 3.5 mm stereo connector such as my auto sound system. It works great. I got the 5 foot length to give me a liitle more flexibility of placement.

Use these for running lavs receivers into a mixer/recorder. No problems, but you have to be aware that it doesnt work for some devices depending on mono/stereo issues. For example this doesnt work to run a Sennheiser G4 RX unit into a single XLR input- that requires a stereo mini to split XLR channels.

Perfect replacement chord for some stereo receivers; in my case an RS 700 Yamaha receiver. Also works for some Fender guitar amplifiers. Did the job perfectly.
