Do Computer Speakers Or Studio Monitors Sound Better
gk | 2024-08-12 04:20:25 |
Like many who buy these speakers I read lots of reviews first, both in journals and on websites and from customers who bought them. Yeah, they are expensive but if one considers them high-quality bookshelf speakers rather than high-quality computer speakers they are a bargain. Yes, I am using them as computer speakers but only because I already have large, dedicated sound-system floor speakers. While the A5+ speakers are inspired by studio monitors they are more versatile. First of all, like monitors they will not improve a bad recording. I noticed right away how poorly engineered and recorded some of my favorite 60's rock songs were. And like monitors I can hear things on the recordings such as coughs, dropped objects, and percussion instruments I'd never heard before. But unlike near-field monitors they have a wider stage presence. I have my speakers about ten feet apart and could certainly separate them more without losing that presence. The sound quality is incredible - clean and crystal clear. Some buyers might consider a sub but I am perfectly happy with the bass they produce. I'd rather hear the music the way it was intended to be heard. No messing with equalizers or tone dials. Build quality is incredible. Some folks might not think the design is modern enough, but for me, the understated, matte finish and simple design is exactly what I wanted. The main speaker is heavy, but when you consider what Audioengine put in it, I am amazed it's not heavier. As for the cooling fins, I have not yet noticed them getting even slightly warm. So am I happy with this purchase? Absolutely. Love the speakers and love the service B&H provides. 5 |

I don't use these monitors to record. I use these as computer speakers to listen to music, movie and etc. I hook them up with a DAC and use RCA. The sound is very clean (I hear things in my music that I never heard before!) The high and mid are sweet. The bass is ok. I have all setting on flat and vol on 0dB. I control the vol from the DAC. I like these monitors. I listen to the A7X and it sound better, but didn't fit my budget. 5 |

The best studio monitors at this price level, PERIOD. They produce sound accurately and clearly for film and music production. The response is flat enough where it counts and they combo as great speakers for enjoying any kind of entertainment partnered with a sub. I use them every day, and I couldnt be happier. Ive used plenty of monitors, and these are my go tos at my home studio and at the office. HOW THEY COMPARE They arent as clear and flat as the Yamaha HS5s but they have much clearer lows and mids, lacking that tinny quality and sound more accurate to how people enjoy entertainment without sacrificing clarity. They arent as bass heavy KRK Rokit 5G3s, but they also arent as muddy as the KRK Rokit 5G3s and have a much clearer treble response. They kill the M-Audio BX8s in every single way—the BX8s are muddy, dull, and hard to listen through. Terrible, really, do not buy M-Audio for accurate audio, and Id say the same thing for the Mackie CR4s. The Presonus Eris E8s just arent it either. The only opponent Id say these have are the Adam Audio A7Xs, which have a much lower bass frequency response and a much more accurate high response, and are just the best monitors Ive ever used all around. The thing is, the Adam Audio A7Xs are $750 EACH. You can often pick these up for less than $250 a pair. So just do it. Buy the LSR305Ps now. Save up. These are the speakers youve always wanted and youve never heard anything like them. What are you even waiting for? 5 |

The more expensive studio monitors I originally wanted we’re not available so I ordered this smaller Edifier Multimedia set To use With my new M-Audio keyboard And computer until the other brand became available. But, after I installed the Edifier powered speakers and connected the system to Bluetooth, I was So absolutely astonished at the Superb sound quality— richness, fullness, intensity, and presence— that I decided I didn’t need anything better! I have since wired it to a Behringer audio interface and it performs just as Well as with Bluetooth. My studio is only twelve feet square and Is well insulated to prevent Sound reflections. Here’s a tip: the speakers are modestly directional so you should locate them deliberately around your workspace to experience the best sound quality. Finally, the speakers are high quality with very satisfying fit and finish. I’m really pleased I selected them. 5 |

This are monitors. Do not expect Dr Dre bass in them. The sound quality its just PERFECT. Very clear sound. More of a balanced or neutral eq. Very good for studio monitoring, live perfomance, and why not, street music. 5 |
