Do Condenser Microphones Require A Sound Card

We are using these condenser microphones for a 20 member church choir. The product literature was very helpful for us in assembly and future modifation of our sound system. The sound technician and I also liked the on-line tutorials that Audix posted. 5 |

Great microphone in good price. I usually use it for the trumpet, and it has a warm sound which is unusual for the condenser microphones in this price range. It also allow me to record little details such as articulations and dainamics. 5 |

I'm not exactly a master of all microphones, but I own a couple of TLM103s and maybe 6 other types of condenser mics. These mics sound fantastic. They're pricey, so if you have over $1,000 to spend on a microphone, I'd recommend getting one of these to produce a really clean recording of pretty much anything. I use it to record vocals, drum sets, other percussion, acoustic and electric guitars (paired with other mics), and it always sounds great. I've always used with the Neumann shock mounts. 5 |

Is a little heavy, but that’s is perfect for the biggest microphones. Perfect for condenser microphones on the desk. 5 |

Not the designed use for the adapter, but it work well - PC mic require ~5v which is normally supplied via the sound card. 5 |

I was about to return this mic; condenser mics are sensitive to a fault, and this one would only work connected to my computer, not to either of my name-brand powered USB-3 hubs. Condenser mics do require more power than a dynamic mic (many require separate phantom power), and USB-3 standards compliance is the wild west, so the only surprise here is that I wasn't warned. I ordered two Xcellon 7-port hubs from B&H despite not knowing the brand, because of their stellar reviews and dual data/charging ports. The Blue Yeti Nano works flawlessly through one of these data/charging ports. It has the heft and appearance of a $600 mic from yesteryear. I then recorded my voice through both this mic and a Samson mic, and my voice sounded much richer through this mic, with fuller bass. Zoom has reasonable audio filters, so I'm defying advice to only use a condenser mic in a treated room, because I love how I sound through this mic. Call it vanity; is there also a web cam that could make this old geezer look attractive? 5 |

Many years ago I bought the one for dynamic microphones and it has always served me well. Now I bought this one for condenser microphones and so fa it has been just as good. I love it!!! 5 |

We use Audio-Technica wireless microphones in our worship services. From time to time we have to replace the Condenser Miniature Microphone. B&H has exactly what we need at the best price. 5 |

I had originally bought a pair of Samson CO1U condenser microphones and ended up returning them after attempting to record a piano only to find an incredible amount of noise. I tried to tweak the settings of the recording software for over an hour to no avail. So I tried a pair of AT2020USB's and found a night and day difference! The gain on the AT2020USB is a little on the sensitive side, giving some pretty harsh distortion when you go beyond the threshold. But once I had all of the levels just right, they sounded amazing! The AT2020USB may be a little more expensive than the CO1U, but the AT2020USB is far more superior in both sound and build quality. I can confidently say you will not be disappointed! 5 |
