If you have USB 2 drives on your older computer then stay with PNY 64 GB Flash Drives. They work and are FAT 32 formated. No Problems with these Flash Drives. I tried 128 GB Flash Drives that were suppose to work on USB 2 thru USB 3. My first file copied to them and the memory crashed and burned. I ordered the PNY 64 GB USB 2 and they are excellent. Smaller GB but always work. 5 |

I've had what feels like a million different USB hubs over the years. I've only had this one for about a month but I love it because of the external power supply, high-transfer speeds (USB3.0), and the ability to independently power on and off each individual (of the 10) USB inputs available. I have a nice little caddy with my Samsung T-drives next to it so when I don't want a drive connected, I eject from my computer, and simply power off its individual port. No more unplugging and replugging and moving drives around. I've got my keyboard, Streamdeck, and 5 Samsung drives plugged in at the moment, and I still have three open USB slots to use. I've had no issues with overloading or drives disconnecting without ejecting first (as I've had others where you look at it the wrong way and it'd disconnect). 5 stars! A hub like this, with an external power supply, is the solution to iffy external drive connections. Without the external power supply, other types of USB hubs do not provide enough power to keep external drives up and running--drives connected other, buss-powered hubs often turn off, and become unavailable in Windows. No such issue with this one. This is also impressively well made. The sleek metal enclosure, power switch and USB ports all inspire confidence that this will have a long life. I have the 7-port version of this, and it has worked flawlessly for almost 2 years of constant service. This hub installed on my Windows 10 PC instantly, and every drive I connect to it gets enough power to work well and stay connected and remain visible on my PC. 5 |
