Do Macbook Pros Have Solid State Hard Drives
Eric | 2024-04-25 09:33:21 |
Purchased four of these, used to update main hard drives in three older 17 MacBook Pros and one Mac Mini. They were easy to install and have been working perfectly since day one. These computers boot up much more quickly that the OEM drives. I highly recommend this drive. Product exactly as described in advertising. Prompt delivery. 5 |

Compared to old Hard drive which was not solid state, the new drive respond time is noticeable. Did not want to change drives because thought I was wasting money $243. but after changing drives glad I did. Ron I 5 |

I am IT guy who replaces mechanical hard drives with solid state hard drives approximately once per week. This is a great brand, with a good product at a great price. If you want to compare SSDs, look for the highest number of Input / Output Per Second (IOPs) to best judge performance. Read/write speed is not a good indicator. I would rate the drive as a B+, which is more great for most uses. 5 |

I used this drive to clone a laptop hard drive to a solid state drive. Worked well. 5 |

This mounting kit worked well when converting my iMac from a hard drive to a solid state drive. 5 |

This is my first MACBook. It is expensive and can not be upgraded after purchase - two big bummers. But it works flawlessly and has all the speed I was hoping for. I use it to create giant panoramas in Photoshop, starting with as many as 15 exposures. What took as much as 15 minutes to process now takes a few seconds. I have a lot of PSB files, gigantic. They save in less than a minute rather than 20. At home, I operate it clam shell style. I had no problem hooking the MACBook up to larger, calibrated screens, though I had to buy a boatload of converters. One way I could have saved money would have been to have purchased a much smaller solid state drive; maybe one TB. No solid state drive is big enough to hold all my photos. So, purchasing a conventional, inexpensive peripheral drive was necessary anyway. A harddrive that is configured for both PCs and MACS turned out to be the best way to go; though now I have about 3TB of unused solid state drive on the MACBook, a waste of money. 5 |

This is my second WD 1 TB drive, and I use them to both store and backup photos from my MacBook Pro (with solid-state storage). Even with lots of RAW files, the transfer rate seems fast. It is small, and easily stored when not in use. There is nothing about this drive that I would change. 5 |

(Please note I did NOT say a solid state NAS drive.) Seagate NAS drives provide great storage capacity, in a standard-sized package, and they're designed for NAS. Highly recommend. 5 |

This Sabrent converter is great in allowing use of the new Solid State drives in older desktop machines. Plug-and-play. Works great 5 |
