Do Surge Protectors Protect Against Lightning Strikes

I have used Tripp-Lite ISOBAR6ULTRA surge protectors to protect my computers and electronic gear for at least 20 years and have never had an issue. These surge protectors are physically well designed and the surge protection is top of the line. Also, the status indicator lights are very useful when troubleshooting power issues.

I have owned one of these APC surge protectors for several years. I use it to protect my PC. I purchased it because it not only protects against electrical surges, but also protects against surges coming in on the coax and telephone lines. I purchased this second APC surge protector for my son to use for his TV and games.

We needed these surge protectors for our data processing area to protect our servers during power outages when our building was operating on generator power. The quality of the product and its heavy duty construction speaks for itself.

This is just what I was looking for to protect my audiophile stack. There are much cheaper surge protectors and more expensive power conditioners but this seemed to ride the line between good protection, filtering and convenience. I love that I can set this at the back of my desk and plug in wall warts (hanging down) and then stack audio equipment on top of it with all the cable mess hidden behind the desk rather than going everywhere on the floor with a traditional surge protector. The single front-facing plug, big toggle switch and indicator lights are a huge convenience as well. If you can get past the odd looking mount points when not in a rack, this is a much better solution for budget audiophiles like me.
