Works as a replacement for older mercury style batteries, although I’ve read that camera meters using alkaline batteries can be a little unreliable especially in brighter conditions.

Even though these batteries are 1.5V and the original mercury-oxide batteries were 1.4V, I really detect no difference the the meter output, and given the latitude of film, would make no practical difference. They work great!

B&H had the odd replacement for obsolete mercury batteries that allowed me to test the light meter in an early 1970s Leica CL. Perfect replacement and it works!

I have a couple of film cameras that call for a 1.35V battery and since you can no longer get Mercury batteries, these are worth the extra money as they provide accurate metering.

This battery is exactly what I needed for my film camera meter to work. It is meant to replace the mercury batteries that is not in production anymore. Would totally recommend! Happy film photography!

This battery is indispensable for vintage cameras that take the old mercury 625 batteries that are no longer made. To make the metering accurate the MRB625 1.35V Zinc-Air Battery is a must. The modern 625A batteries are 1.5V and will not give an accurate reading and you run the risk of damaging your camera.
