Do Window Air Conditioners Sense Outside Temperature

I often record in my apartment or at the studio where I work - there is a ton of background noise like traffic, air conditioners, and creaky floors. I think the Nest Thermostat is an amazing product and adding these temperature sensors to the rooms that you want to control the temperature in just makes sense. Why keep the living area at a certain temperature when everyone’s in bed? May as well use the sensor in your room to control the temp! Makes sense to me.

It's like having a giant window to stand next to your subject anywhere you go. I giggle every time I open it up because of just how large it is. Do recommend if you need something that packs away. I paired it with the diffuser for max soft light. Used with an Ad200 flash. Photos needed practically zero editing.

We purchased an Eve Weather Station, and a Logitech Circle View week ago for monitoring our pet's room a week ago. Since we only had a couple of window air conditioners available as heat wave was starting, and could not leave room door open, we wanted a way to check in on our dear pet and make sure the room was not getting too hot for their health. Prior to this purchase, we had never made use of Apple's HomeKit technology and were completely ignorant of how it worked. Setup was very easy and quick. In addition to the Home app on our phones, we also downloaded the Eve app (this is not required per se, but may be to allow for firmware updates to the Eve Weather Station when made available). The app provides nice graphing for tracking trends or pinpointing historical readings, for example the difference in temperature before and after we added weather sealing to the window around the air conditioner. We were very happy with how easily this worked out, so we purchased several more and have distributed them throughout our living spaces. We are curious to look into seeing if we can also download the data as backup for later analysis as we experiment with other experiments and changes and attempts to manage heat and cooling. (This is a very old place with original, single-pane windows, there is very little insulating, and a southern exposure!)
