Does A Gaming Laptop Read Discs

I brought this since my Asus Gaming laptop only had a 1/2TB SSD. Easy to install and fast read/write times. Highly Recommend.

very quite and keeps my gaming laptop running cool.

It works perfectly with no problems burning Bly-ray Discs..... It does not however read 4K Blu-ray discs, I think I might need to update drivers first.....

This all in one is nice because it includes everything a laptop does plus you can actually read the screen.

I bought this to replace a five-year-old device, which was failing to read some discs. This was a simple change-out, and the new unit works fine under both Windows 7 and Ubuntu 18.04 (dual boot). I didn't use the software that comes with the device; some people may find it useful if they don't already have software.

I've been using different LG drives over the years to read UHD discs and have always found their behavior to be a bit frustrating. This pioneer drive is quiet, reads every disc I throw at it and is fast as well. I would happily recommend this to anyone in the market for a drive to use with MakeMKV or just as a player.
