The Polsen XP-2 2-Channel Microphone Signal Booster is not something I realized I needed until I started using it. I am using it to boost the signal on my desk microphone and it's connected through my Senal USB adapter which provides the phantom power. It can add up to 25db of clean gain which is impressive. I didn't realize the difference this would make until I actually hooked it up and started using it daily. I no longer have to be right up on my microphone to get a reasonable signal output. The other application I tried this out with was some interviews I recently shot where the interview subject was soft-spoken. Being able to get that extra gain really came in handy. I like that the xlr has locking connectors and that this is plug-and-play. It's made of all metal and feels rugged so it should hold up to some punishment over time. It's only flaw is if you use it outside and your WiFi signal is not of good range it won't work! . Alas if your techy you will overcome this problem 5 |

I initially got this because the wifi card in my laptop stopped working and I wanted to try this before more costly options. But this ended up being way better because now I can get a strong wifi signal on our back porch and now I can work efficiently outside! It also picks up signal at the arboretum by me so I can work there too :) LOVE! 5 |

Long cables tend to degrade signal. This cable has the booster midway to solve that problem. 5 |
