Having the free monthly cellular option has been *fantastic*! I've greatly enjoyed seeing the changing trail scenery and temperature over the year, while keeping track of critters (four and two legged) crossing the land. Turkeys, racoons, coyotes, foxes, an eagle, loads of deer, and my rifle carrying meat-making friends and family coming by for a visit. This has been a great gift! Ubiquity products are closer to enterprise than consumer, and therefore require a bit more setup then competing plug and play vendors like Asus and tplink. If setup correctly, they are pretty much trouble free and give you capabilities that the consumer level gear would never dream of providing like auto provisioning new APs and monitoring which clients have been connecting to your SSID. Firmware upgrades are a snap and the UI, is pretty great for a free add-on product. Performance so far has been pretty great. I'm getting AC, N and G in the 2.4 and 5GHz bands and reliable up times. This is my 2nd AP from ubnt, the first being a refurbished AP pro. If you are comfortable installing Java based management software and tweaking the initial setup you will end up with a really stable and good performing wifi install. 5 |
