Does Docking Station Work With Desktop

I like this docking station for work and home.

Using this docking station with my Dell XPS15. One Thunderbolt connection is now all I need to have my laptop connected to two QHD monitors (one of them widescreen), desktop speakers, keyboard/mouse, and a backup hard drive. That still leaves a few ports available for additional accessories. The only thing that would possibly make this dock better would be the SD card readers that some other brands include. It's nice to be able to just unplug one connection to go portable - and plug back in for a desktop-like experience. So far, I'm very pleased with my purchase.

If like me you have an ultra book style laptop or newer macs, everything on the computer is connected through the usb-c ports… great, they are fast and can do tons of stuff, but most of my other stuff isn’t usb-c. Also, even though I have a big desktop, I don’t want to constantly send files or copy them to work more comfortably on it, that’s where I really love this. I really love how docking station works as a 1 plug transformation into a desktop. It has its own power supply, so no need to plug your charger in, it works with my Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, and external drives, all plug and play and all through the single usb-c. I have also set it up to share my desktop monitor… so I’ve just plugged everything in and leave it on my desk at home, so all I need to do is plug the one cable in, and for the monitor, switch it over and laptop becomes desktop. If like me you have to move around a lot with you laptop but much prefer a desktop, this is what you need, I really do love it! It’s nicely made and size wise it fits nicely under my monitor and has loads of connections so it should be perfect for most needs. I highly recommend this!

This Apple Thunderbolt 2 cable, was the cable needed to connect an older desktop MacPro(late 2013) computer to a OWC Thunderbolt 3 docking station(note: a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 adaptor is needed to connect the computer to a Thunderbolt 3 docking station. Docking station is compact, small footprint on desktop, easy to connect. Keyboard and mouse dongle, HDMI monitor cable, USB-C conference speaker, and HP laptop. Great that it has power included, Used with HP Envy 13-aq00ms.

This came in very handy as I need to work from home and connect a printer to my docking station.
