Does Hp Usb C Dock Charge Laptop

This dock delivers. One USB-C Thunderbolt cable to the HP laptop is all that is needed to drive 2 27 inch monitors, wireless mouse & keyboard, webcam, and a USB thumb drive. The cable also maintains a charge on the laptop and all that is needed is a single touch to the power button on the dock to wake the system.

A compact, weighty and well designed dock. I like the ability to charge my Envy laptop vis the USB C port. Not sure why the AC adaptor has to be so large and heavy - seems at odds with the svelte design of the docking unit.

My laptop has 2 USB-C ports, this dock allows me to use my older pc accessories and charge the laptop when needed. The form raises the computer to a more comfortable typing position.

It's weird to consider this, but connect-ability will likely influence future laptop purchases for my team. Highly recommend.

Needed this dock for work. All the ports work as expected. Set up was simple. Have tested with HP laptop only, at this time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this HP USB-C Dock G5 and was finally able to try it out for a week. My thoughts are simple: this product works as intended, the product has a durable feel, and all the necessary components and wires were included. I've always wanted a USB-C laptop dock but just couldn't justify getting from an unknown brand. However, that all changed with the HP branded dock. I really love the lightweight feel and thought that the dock was the appropriate size considering all the different attachments that you can add. Usually, docks are bulkier and contain more components that may be connected to but the price is unnecessarily huge. Anyhow, I feel that this is a good dock that I will use for a long while yet because it has all the connections that I need. No unnecessary fluff. I definitely enjoyed using the dock and my wife loves it as well. I think what could be improved upon this dock is probably a power brick that is built into the unit itself or improving the power output. Another thing is probably more colors to choose from. I am a huge fan of customization so the limited colors available might be a problem. I didn't take any stars off for it though because I understand that colors may not be the most important for a simple USB-C dock. I love using this dock and you will enjoy it too! Again, this product works as designed and I can't really find any faults besides what I have already mentioned. So overall, I would like to thank the manufacturer for providing such an amazing dock and I hope to get more HP products in the future.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first transition from a physical docking station to USB-C docking was not pleasant.... until I bought the HP G5 dock. I'm running a new HP Spectre X360 with the laptop + 2 HP monitors. My first USB-C dock (another brand) was cheaper, but would freeze my extra displays (with the correct setup and drivers). HP to the rescue! I purchased the new G5 dock and had it up and running in less than 10 minutes, including configuration.

I was previously using a J5 Create dock, but my monitors would often flicker, and it would take a while before my HP G5 EliteBook could get up a running in the morning. Everything powers up immediately with this new HP docking station. I also like the small footprint and multiple USB ports, including USB-C on the front. I've only had it for a couple of weeks, but hopefully it turns out to be durable, because I use it every day for work.

Laptops are port challenged. Your best fix is this HP dock. Ports for video, usb C and usb 2 or 3, cat 6 and more, and it makes no noise. Bravo!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace my ThinkPad Ultra Docking Station (type 40AJ). My laptop would periodically overheat while using it, even with a cooling pad with fans. The profile of the docking station prevented the fans from cooling the laptop body. This new dock works great. The laptop has not overheated at all with the new dock. This Hybrid USB-C has plenty of slots for my needs (USB, HDMI, speakers). It has a nice, small footprint as well. I recommend it!
