Dome Projector Screen

We use this projector screen in our church activities.

I installed them next to my projector screen and they sound great.

Anyone looking to extend there monitor onto a TV screen or projector this is the way to go.

Using this to decode an NDI source to a projector in Church services with live stream. We previously were sending the Presentation Laptops screen to the OBS computer via NDI, and used a separate proprietary wireless video feed to the main projector. Got this so we can use the same NDI source for both and eliminate the wireless projector feed. It is working well. One thing to be aware of: the projector will display will go blank in a couple of seconds if there is no video and audio activity when using NDI Screen Capture as the source. This can be an issue during power points with static screens. You can set the decoder to keep the last thing displayed on the screen or allow it to go blank. I prefer it to go blank so I know something is wrong right away. You can also resolve by making sure the NDI Screen Capture is using an active audio source (like the microphone). This decoder has been reliable and is reasonably priced. Perhaps other decoders won't have the inactivity issue but they are also more expensive. This has not been a show stopper for us.

This thing worked great. This is just what I needed to get my screen up and another screen to my projector up at the same time in my sanctuary. This was great.

This screen assembles easily and can be done by one person. A great pairing with the Aaxa P6X projector.

I bought the Light Dome SE to have a good quality soft box for use in my house, where space is limited, as well as something I could pack and take to locations. I've mounted it on front of a Nanlite FS-150. Overall, I really like this dome. I'm sure for more money there are better ones available, but for the cost, I feel like my money was well-spent. The dome itself feels well-built and has virtually no light leaks in the back. Assembly is a little finicky, and I think that would be the one thing I'd be willing to spend a little bit more money on: faster setup time. What's great are the multiple diffusion options and the included egg crate. They give me a wide range of options all out of one kit, which is exactly what any starting filmmaker needs from every piece of gear. I will absolutely buy more of these when I have more Bowens-mount lighting fixtures.

This is a good bracket for mounting the Hikvision Speed Dome. It allows most of the hardware of the speed dome to be hidden above the ceiling exposing only the transparent dome. Thanks B+H for the great price which was about half the price of every other supplier on the web, and the fast shipping.

Coming from the Light Dome mini 2, the mini 3 is an improvement. Excepting there's no gel holder, but that was a pain to use on the mini 2, and nowadays RGB LEDs exist at good prices, so why gel. I have been testing the Aputure Light Dome Mini 3 with the Godox SZ300R in Fan Off mode @ 30% DIM in CCT, about 2ft from the talent. It's great on a kupo cstand with a 20 riser, to add fill light to a seated subject. The light dome mini 3 case is slightly longer than the mini2 case, but it's much more compact. I can store 2 in a large tackle box. Basically the bowens mount ring folds in half over itself, and the umbrella spokes rotate to one side. Setup is literally like 15 seconds. Just releasing the tension lock and pushing the spokes into a curve in one downward motion towards the floor, while simultaneously pulling up the bowens half so it locks into place. There's setup vids on youtube. One thing I really loved is the bowens mount part is very lightweight. So it doesn't drag down weaker yokes. And it makes setting up the light easier. Also, the small form factor means I don't have to take the dome apart to go thru doorways. Though if I did have to take it apart, dissembly is like 5 seconds, just releasing the hold tab that clicks in place. Really well thought out, small form factor. As a dome itself, color looks good to my eye. Inner reflector and front diffuser work together well. Grid could use a little more velcro but truly doesn't matter. At low brightness and slightly off angle, using the inner reflector and front diffuser, you won't blind your subject when using this as a fill for a headshot. Recover some eye information / kill raccoon eyes. I liked it so much I sold my light dome 2 and mini 2, and bought 4 of the light dome mini 3's. Perfect tool for how I shoot in small interior spaces. Easy setup, small form factor case, great price. Great modifier for COB LEDs.
