Enable remote or human contact free operation of the camera recording. My camera (D5300) is able to configure the remote release to start/stop video recording or to take a picture. Yes, this is plastic construction but is is durable for normal use. On/Off of the receiver requires a several second press so the until cannot be accidentally turned on or off. 5 |

I prefer this doorbell over the RING I had previously. Internal micro SD for recording, is a great feature. Cloud service (monthly fee) not necessary. Lorex security cameras are high end so expected a quality video doorbell as well. Happy with purchase. 5 |

I am extremely happy with the video doorbell. Installation was easy and I like that this doorbell does not require a subscription to view the recording of events. As a bonus, I was able to add doorbell as a camera on my Lorex NR908X and that allows video to be saved on its hard drives.
