Got one of these mics for drum recording and figured I'd double up on them as an overhead pair. They sound perfect for the job. Had an issue with the capsule on the first WA mic I got and their warranty support was quick and effective.

Leave it to Zoom to create a Double Header LOL. I have taught drums for 25+ years, my drum kit and my students drum kit (in my studio), bit have Audio Technica AT-2020's over each set, with the EXH-6 connected to my Zoom H5, I am able to connect the H5 to make recording's for my students in high quality and send them home. When on a music job, I am also able to connect the EXH-6 with dual Electro Voice Mic's through my H5, into my Zoom R24 mixing/recoding board and make some great recordings! It's easy to snap on/off of the Zoom H5 and H6, and works like a dream!

This purchase replaced two of my 5 MKH8050's that went missing. They are great mics that there was no question I needed to replace. The Sennheiser MKH8050 (hypercardiod),and the other MKH mics, have a very smooth on and off-axis frequency response, are very quiet, and being RF condensers ( unlike almost all other condensers) are not affected by very humid conditions( no cracking/popping). I've used the MKH8050 on almost every instrument you can think off with outstanding sound: eg kick drum, bass/guitar amp, brass, woodwinds. acoustic guitar, banjo, violin/viola/cello/bass, kalimba, sitar, drum overhead, tabla, djembe, cajon, choir, classical style vocals ( mic'ed from few feet distance). Great for live sound and live recording. Rycote INV-3 are perfect shockmount clips to use with the 8050 ( and the 8040, 8020, 8090). I don't bother with the standard clips-esp. since the mics and the INV-3 shockmounts are very small and this is a bonus for video work. I don't do boom work but many write that this mic is one of the go-to choices for boom mics (esp indoors where off-axis pickup needs to be smooth).

Love the overcooked bass and well balanced mids and treble. Sounds especially great when listening to drum, guitar and bass.

I have a whole box full of nady mic's they all treat me well. I use a 18 bass drum 99% of the time in the studio and my D6 is just to chubby sounding with it I was using an old sm57 which suddenly conked out. Got this one a whim as I have several nady 460's and like them a lot. I leave this kit mic'd up most of the time so need quite a few mic's In my tool box. Am very pleased sounds better than the sm57 in this app. Has a good slap and enough bottom without having to eq some out. Just add a gate and I have a great bass drum sound.

Good isolation, and really good bass response. Use them for Drum Monitor, using parametric EQ they sound great.
