Double Reed Brass Instruments

This is a work horse mic used by every sound engineer to record any type of instruments:brass, percussion, etc. 5 |

I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments. The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections. Versatile and great sound quality. 5 |

Our theater group owns one, but needed another and we just purchased a new one so now have 2, thus can double the number of separately-cued instruments/groups of lighting instruments on our small community theater stage. Works well; you haver to spend a bit of learning how to program it, but once you figure out your set-up its ready to go, trouble-free compact. 5 |

I'm happy to now own a couple of these double baby pins because they enable me to mount small lighting instruments (e.g. 300 watt fresnels) in a wider variety of places compared to just using straight standing light stands by putting the baby pin on the end of a grip arm on a C-stand. Now, I can put lighting instruments down low or way up high, hanging over a subject. These open up a lot of possibilities, and, compared to clamping things to furniture or hanging them from drop ceilings, this is a lot more secure. 5 |

Be head I have ever had. High quality and precision. Aaron Reed and B& H came through for me on this one. 5 |

The price was right and it performs exactly the way it is supposed to. I like the knurled edges. I would have sprung for the brass one, but I couldn't justify double the price. This one is great as it is. 5 |

I was getting transfer speeds just over 100MB/s with the factory 1G card. With the 10G card, I'm seeing reed and write speeds around 500MB/s. I am working with a fairly long run over Cat 5e, so it might be capable of even more. 5 |

I’ve been in the tech industry for many years. As a piece of tech the AE-01 works very well. It sends MIDI to my Mac, iPad, and iPhone, both wirelessly and via USB. USB to iOS needs an adapter from Apple. The iOS app works well. The AE-01 works as a MIDI controller with GarageBand and other apps. It also receives Bluetooth audio from Mac, iPad, and iPhone. It looks well built, like it will last a while. I am a beginner at wind instruments, with only a little bit of trumpet experience in elementary school. As an instrument the AE-01 works. I can play this thing a little bit, and from my trumpet experience I understand I will need a lot of practice to become competent. I can practice with headphones and not disturb my neighbors. The tutorial on the iPad app is helpful. One complaint I have is with the mouthpiece. Buying the simpler OP-AE01MP mouthpiece solved that complaint. The AE-01 comes with a mouthpiece like a clarinet or saxophone mouthpiece. It has a plastic “reed” that you can bite down on. Biting the “reed” controls the sound in more expensive models, but does nothing in the AE-01. Using the simple mouthpiece without a reed is much easier for me, and I don’t lose any functionality. 5 |

This negative is one of the best ever made by Kodak and it might be the worst experience for a photographer. I strongly recommend that you Reed carefully Kodak PDF regarding this film. This negative at it's best for landscape photography and commercial studio work. It is not for shooting portraits or people in general. 5 |
