Replaced an older MoCA and increased the bandwidth from ~ 40 mbps downstream to 130 Mbps. In my setup, the cable line is not connected to the rest of the house's cable network, but rather is point to point between two MoCA devices.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The modem actually found an error with my Xfinity downstream connection. Once that was resolved my connection has been fast and reliable! Great upgrade!

Only need 10gbps to connect my Synology to computer for fast LAN transfers. I use this downstream from my router and everything works as expected. Great unmanaged switch for 10gbps.

I've done a lot of research on many Thunderbolt docks and hubs. Nearly every Thunderbolt hub is designed for laptops to dock to by putting both the downstream ports and the upstream port on the same side of the device. I have a desktop, and I do not want the upstream cable facing the outside. Enter this Thunderbolt hub, one of the very few hubs with ports laid out like a hub should have. The DC power input goes in the back, the upstream port goes in the side, and the users have a clean row of USB ports along the front to plug their devices into. One improvement I'd ask for is to move the upstream port to the back as well, and maybe allow for DC input from the computer itself using USB PD, and then relocate one of the downstream Thunderbolt ports in the back to the front. But given what else is on the market, this is about the best I could find for my desktop setup.

As described, it really does float! Even with the Optio attached. I live on a river and like to take the Optio along on kayak trips downstream, but was concerned that if the camera went overboard it might be lost. So a floating wrist strap is just the ticket, and the bright yellow color should make it easy to spot should it decide to go for a swim.

My wall fluctuates between 126-128V. I have a power conditioner downstream of this voltage regulator to monitor if the power is being optimized and brought closer to 120V. This unit does exactly that! I now have piece of mind that my gear will be safely powered in my home studio. I bought one for my live rig as well since you never know how good the power is at a venue.

Update (October 2020): After the NetGear team contacted me over the issue I was experiencing, they strongly suggested that I should get Comcast to check my incoming line, as both the CM1000 and CM2000 were reporting that I had "Partial Service" in the upstream. And indeed, it turned out that Comcast had installed a filter on their end that prevented some of my upstream channels from working properly! I was told that they put in the filter after they observed some "ingress" noise coming from my house. This must have happened a while ago, and I was never contacted. In any case, no such noise was detectable anymore, and Comcast removed the filter. The CM2000 now successfully and reliably locks all 5 upstream channels, and no longer indicates "Partial Service". I am getting 1.2Gbps downstream and 42Mbps upstream, as I was hoping for for my 1Gbps/35Mbps plan with 20% overprovisioning. The CM2000 is a clear upgrade over the CM1000, and its improved UI actually helped me identify a Comcast-imposed limitation. Original review (September 2020): I bought this to replace a CM1000 in the hopes of capturing the 20% overprovisioning that Comcast does on their Gigabit plan —- that actually worked for the downstream, giving almost 1.2Gbps! However, logging in to the modem (192.168.100.1), it shows that it can only lock 2 out of 5 upstream channels, while the CM1000 locked all 5 without problems. Very strange, but that looks to be more severe issue than the increased downstream benefit. So back to the CM1000 I will go.

I really like the CM700 modem. It has been working great. The 32 downstream channels really make a difference when it comes to streaming to multiple 4K TVs. There are no buffering or stuttering problems while streaming. I would highly recommend this modem.
