This is my media for monthly backup of financial data. A simple drag and drop using Ubuntu---slick and trouble free. I would prefer it supported empty the trash with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, but I typically overwrite files anyway so I don't think it will be a problem. Fast delivery and arrived in excellent condition---I'm pleased. The proprietary cable is a slight bummer if it ever gets chewed by my dog or lost in a move. 5 |

I am a Mac user and all I wanted was a storage device, not a backup device. I just wanted to be able to drag and drop pictures onto a small hard drive that would fit into my safe deposit box. I've tried other external hard drives to do this job but could not figure out how to set them up for just storage, not back up. All I did was plug it into my Mac via the USB and I was able to drag-and-drop instantly. The WD drive fits comfortably in one hand and appears to be well built. Works like a huge thumb drive. It's dumb, and that's what I want. Plug it in and it's ready to go. Just drag & drop your files and it whirrs away; no auto features, it just sits there until you're ready to transfer. Western Digital has been a reliable brand for me, and I expect no trouble from this drive. Speed depends on your computer and connections. 5 |

Work great, got them for swimming but they also worked for treadmill and weights. Have not yet used for outside bike ride. Using the laptop to drag and drop tracks was easy but would prefer being able to drag and drop Apple Lossless files. All in all a great purchase! 5 |
