Freed from the plastic-on-glass that's drawing on bare glass, this thing is a game changer. I'm not one to follow online rants about products, but, in seeking to draw with a degree of 'traditional' feel...I watched videos, read articles and ordered, fingers crossed. Now I don't even know why I was skeptical. It's very PAPER-LIKE. The price was rather unkind, being from South Africa...exchange rate, and other glitches...but...it's worth the trouble.

Excellent, smooth organic effect. A classic.

Not too much blooming, and just enough fuzziness to make a digital image more organic.

I love the wood. It’s textural and organic. Love it.

Drawing on it feels much more natural than drawing on glass surface.

...but only if you're into the look. Me personally I'm into them. They work for me, my workflow, and style. Purchased a 1/4 and 1/8. I feel to my eye: - 1/4 is great to use for general use (well lit conditions and spaces that don't completely blow out light sources and practicals, but still gives me the diffused, organic, soft image that I'm seeking). 1/4 in dark environments feels a little forced stylistically and too dreamy in certain situations. - 1/8 is great in darker conditions (night shoots, dark bedrooms or office with some practicals in the frame, etc.). To my eye it does in dark conditions, what 1/4 does in brighter conditions. 1/8 in daylight conditions doesn't give me enough of the diffused/organic/soft look that I'm seeking. Of course, this is just a personal preference and what I my eye is interpreting. I'm sure I'll break my own rules many times, depending on the situation and shooting conditions :) But I'm impressed and they're great combined with the GH5 + Sigma 18-35mm (metabones) combo. I'm probably going to purchase two more of each just as back-ups, soon. They're going to get used a lot. I can already tell. Here's to making good investments *Cheers*
