Dream Machine Pro

An audiophile's dream machine.

Pretty simple, this is my interconnect from a Dream Machine Pro to the gen 2 24 port Pro switch and it works perfectly.

I have been using Ubiquiti equipment for about a year now. I have been pretty happy with their stuff. I recently upgraded to the dream machine and have been just as happy with this unit as I was with my USG pro. So far so good. Also, it was nice to get my cloud key off the rack being the UDM pro has it built in.

I plugged a few of these access points into my Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro SE and configured them in under 5 minutes. The process was simple and WiFi coverage is much better than my old access points. The additional ports are a great option - you can even configure them on different VLANs.

It was a smooth install, I simply did a backup of my cloudkey and did a restore on the dream machine pro and it adopted all my unifi cameras and access points. Installed a few sfp cards and boom I'm up and running a 10g network. I should be good for my internet router for some time to come. Having dual wan support is awesome, if I ever need redundancy for WAN. The updates took a while to do. I opted for the dream machine pro not the dream machines pro se. The big difference was link speed on the WAN ports are 1g or 10g only I got around this with a media converter that auto negotiates with the modem to give me max link speed but links to the dream machine at 10g. My internet speed before I have upgraded my service went from a capped 1gbps service and now pulls down 1.2gbps to 1.6gbps speeds.

I installed this in my Unifi Dream Machine Pro to record video from surveillance cameras and I does the job, I have always had good luck with Segate enterprise disks.

The Dream machine not only is a powerful router but it incorporates it's on WAP, alleviating the need for an additional PRO level WAP and it also includes a CloudKey app, alleviating the need for the older, separate CloudKey dongle. The unit itself is very discreet and easy to manage; some of my customers think it's an updated Alexa!

The Ubiquiti Networks UniFi Dream Machine Pro is a true enterprize level router with easy setup. Our IT person replaced a hacked Cisco unit with the Ubiquiti Networks UniFi Dream Machine Pro and had the system on-line within an hour. Add in the ability to work seamlessly with the Ubiquiti Networks LTE modem and you have a very reliable and usable solution with backup.

These access points were plug in play installs into our dream machine pro. Great range and the secondary port was a game changer for us. Highly recommend. You don't even have to be tech savy to install and configure if you have the dream machine pro.

I added the U6 Pro to improve wifi coverage. The Dream Machine Pro immediately recognized it, confirmed that I wanted to use default AP settings, adopted it, and placed it online. My wireless performance increased from 50 Mbps (wifi4/5) to over 400 Mbps (wifi6). I used the included ceiling mount clips to relocate one of my AC-LRs. I'm very happy with my Ubiquiti setup.
