Dreams Car Accessories

Imagine in your head the luxury car of your dreams... go ahead. Now what are you thinking of? A G-Wagon? Porsche 911? Chances are, the car of your dreams isn't the world's most expensive car, rather it is something middle of the road in terms of price and still very very nice compared to an economy automobile. In essence, the same can be said about this tripod. Unless you are a Hollywood industry-pro who is used to shooting on the most expensive $50,000 tripod, then this is the one for you. I bought this tripod to use with my Blackmagic URSA Mini 4.6k Rig which weighs in at about 10-11lbs. I upgraded from a $30 Targus tripod that was really not great quality and not rated to carry such a large rig. That said, this tripod is a huge upgrade, physically. The product image makes it look like an itty bitty photo tripod, but I assure you, it is not. Fully extended, my camera towers half a foot over a standard seven foot doorway. It's large enough that if you threw a piece of canvas over top, it would make a nice one man teepee. The build quality is fantastic and clean (no oily/greasy metal parts) and it works like an absolute dream. I will own and use this tripod for the next 5-10 years, easily. Also, I love the fact that I can use the same 502 quick release plate as my glidecam and easily switch back and forth between the two. My next purchase will be a slider to mount atop this solid piece of manfrotto equipment.

I really enjoy taking pictures on vacation. When we do car trips, I usually take my SLR with an assortment of lenses and accessories. For flights, I don't want to bring a lot of heavy gear and find this ZS100 to be a great alternative. The pictures are nearly of SLR quality and it has the flexibility to cover almost every shooting situation. All this in a really compact form factor. If you are willing to go a little bigger, then a Sony RX10 III or IV would be my next choice, but I wasn't willing to give up the small size and weight of this Panasonic.

i'm still outfitting it with accessories, but i've really been loving it so far. super easy to balance and use. using it with a jib, using it with magnetic car mounts, using it freestyle. considering a steadicam style vest for it. it's amazing what is achievable at these price points. and the free app can operate it as a motion-controlled remote, as well as updating firmware, calibrating motors, etc. high payload. really happy with what we're getting with this on our team.
