I also use the stand pole as a mount for a cell phone and mini video camera (GoPro). It has quite a reach and I really like the air damping effect when releasing the different sections to lower them.

This is a handy and very portable mini tripod for my cell phone (or you could use it on a small point and shoot). Easily configured into many different combinations.

I had another cell phone mini tripod which broke after 6 months use. The articulated leg snapped off completely. This new Manfrotto PIXI Smart Tripod with Universal Smartphone Clamp is great. Although the height is set and not adjustable the tripod is solid. The clamp is extremely tight. The ball head is perfect being adjustable in every axis. I highly recommend this cell phone tripod. Only slight complaint would be a model that had adjustable legs to increase height.

I got this to protect my Droid Ultra when backpacking. Much cheaper than an otterbox, and actually waterproof. I can fit my phone and large external battery pack for a week-long trip (with a little space left over) and not worry about wet, crushed, cracked screen, or anything else, even when jammed down in my pack. Also, it's future proof because it will fit my next phone too. Only downside is that the hole for the included carabiner is too small to use a more robust hook, but that is very minor.

This Cell Phone Mount was bought for my Wife. She watches videos on her cell phone often and I thought this was a better idea than leaning her phone against a bottle of ketchup or loaf of bread. Combining this with a tiny foldable tripod gives her a compact stand for her cell phone and she now uses it almost daily. She seems to like it and it folds up to take very little space. The mount had a slight hangup when I first tried it out but seems to work fine now. The threads in the plastic parts are actually brass inserts that are moulded in place so they will probably hold up a lot longer than plain plastic would. The plastic is well moulded and seems to be pretty good quality. In theory, the mount will stand up without a tripod, but it isn't stable.

Wonderful case to carry point and shoot or cell phone on the boat or to the beach.

I like the feature that it is also connected to my cell phone.
