I used the Video Grabber in the production of an 8-hour long auction and it worked flawlessly. I used it between a Sony NX-5 camera and VMix running on a laptop and I couldn't be any happier with the product. I might be adding a second for my next production.

The video grabber is a very clever product. Unlike another popular converter the Video Grabber allows conversion of HDMI to USB (of course) but also allows HDMI pass through and has outlets for audio microphone input and headphone output. For me it serves the purpose I had hoped very well which is to take the 1080P video output from a D-SLR to my computer for multi-media presentations. I now have the ability to switch from a WebCam, To the D-SLR and to share the presentation screen of the computer file.

This is the easiest plug and play video grabber ever. I use it with my Sony alpha 6000 and also with my iPhone 11 Pro. Works with zoom video and on my 2014 MacBook Pro. Audio syncs perfectly.

...this video grabber works flawlessly right out of the box. The Canon cameras' HDMI outputs (5D Mk 4 and 1D-X Mk 2) are set to send clean HDMI to the Pengo and to follow focus on my face. I'm using a Shure SM-57 microphone with an XLR-to-1/8 TRS adapter and both video and sound are excellent. There was no problem getting my Mac to recognize the Pengo for Zoom, FaceTime or Quicktime. Both video and sound are vastly superior to the camera and mic built in to the iMac. I'm very happy with this product.

I use this video grabber to convert HDMI video and audio output from my Canon XA40 camcorder to USB 3.0 connected to my Windows 10 laptop for Zoom streaming. So far, it has worked great. I have an external mic connected to the XLR input of my camcorder, so the audio is excellent as well as the video coming out of the HDMI camcorder output. Because I am using this device in a somewhat unique way, I had to come up with my own way of attaching it to my camcorder tripod. The grabber has a rubber padded base, but no standard 1/4-20 UNC threads for mounting to a tripod. I ended up re-purposing a cellphone holder designed to mount on a tripod. I had a clamp I used to attach the holder to a leg of the tripod. It works perfectly! Another tip! I use gaffer tape to help support the weight of the cables coming out of the camera to this device and an external field monitor I use. This helps take the stress off the plugs going into and out of the camera and attached devices to avoid damage to your expensive equipment.
