Drone With Camera For Good Shots

Small but good, enough for my camera and drone.

I thought getting a drone would open up more possibilities for my productions. I've only had it for a little while and I can see how it will allow me to get shots I never could have gotten before. There's def a learning curve (I was not raised on video games) but in the meantime the controls makes sense and there are enough safeguards to keep the drone from crashing. Its one of the reasons I chose this besides the fact that it has a better camera than the less expensive models. I want my drone shots to work in with my Blackmagic and Panasonic cameras. That's the tricky part. Right out of the box I could see that this camera was not really not going to give me those looks. However, once I started using the ND filters, that's when the footage starting looking workable. Without the ND filters there's something sort of Go Pro looking about the images. So from my experience so far, it seems you really need ND filters for what they bring to an image. Now I can see how I will be able to integrate the drone footage into something like a short film or music video. You just have to be smart about how you do it I suppose. There's something magical about drone footage. It's sort of like slow motion footage. You can film just about anything and it makes you see things in a new way. I've been preparing for the part 107 license so I can use the Mavic 3 Classic commercially at some point. In the meantime, I will practice thinking backwards when the thing is flying backwards toward me. That's that hard part.

As are all F-stop packs this is another quality product. I purchased this with the Medium insert. They also make a drone specific bag for a DJI Mavic series drone that fits on top of the medium insert and a smaller bag thats good for recharging gear on top of the drone bag. This all fits into the Lotus 4 Core bag which is carry on size for most airlines. Worst case on a flight somewhere, and they demand to check the bag, just pull out the insert with your main camera gear and carry that on. Treated with minimal care, this bag should last many years. For me, it's ideal for air travel or any type of travel where you want your camera gear with drone in a minimum sized bag. Also a good bag for day hiking day trips. Overall a nice compact quality bag with lots of options. Recommended!

With this, now you can use your DJI Osmo to do aerial transition shots to combine with drone footage, film safely over crowds, or where it would be impossible to do so legally or safely with a drone. Nice addition to any Osmo owner's accessories (I use it with DJI articulating locking arm).

While I am a drone cinematographer, many times it's just not safe or logistically sensible to fly to get certain shots. Wiral solves that problem with the Wiral Lite! Absolutely amazing results with this guy - now a standard part in my camera kit!

Very useful book which gives me tones of valuable knowledge about flying a drone and get nice still & motion shots. I love that book.

This is by far the most versatile monopod I've owned. My favorite use for it is faking drone shots with a small remote-controlled 3 axis gimbal stabiliser (Zhiyun Rider M) attached to the top. The set-up is also an 8 foot jib that fits easily inside any normal backpack.
