I am 9 months with my first DSLR. I am not a pro. This Rokinon 85mm is Manual and has turned out to be a teacher in a lens. Solid construction and materials. Full manual and Full manual aperture range of 1.4 - 22 I have the POWER!!! The review in photography magazine was exact. I cannot stop taking pictures. Finally, something for my left hand to do while composing a shot. $60.00 in savings from buying the Bower 85mm (exact same maker). Develop the real photographer within yourself. Go to the Manual Side.

If you like to use manual focus on your dslr, this product is best for remove unwanted light.

Works perfectly. Upgraded to Blackmagic from my panasonic a100. It's stopped reading my tapes so I decided to upgrade instead of fixing. My batteries are still good so this was a no brainer.

My first DSLR after switching from film SLRs. This camera is great for low light photos without using flash. Super in restaraunts and other public places for non-flash photoshooting. Works great for MACRO photography even with the kit lens. Takes excellent images in the full auto modes as well as the manual modes with manual lenses. This camera is an all around excellent buy. Super bang for the buck.

Voigtlander and Zeiss have been offering superb quality manual-focus lenses in M-mount for ages, but they also have more offerings for DSLR and mirrorless camera mounts, and this is one of them. A great light weight walk-around lens for my Nikon Df (the smallest and lightest FF Nikon DSLR). If you need auto-focus all the time, this is not for you.

This lens, like most manual focus lenses, isn't always easy to use. On a DSLR you'll have to be extremely picky about your focus, and personally, it's hit or miss. I mainly use mine on a Nikon z7II or even adapted to a Fujifilm XT-3. The key there is they have a 100% zoom in the viewfinder and focus is a cinch as long as you don't have a fast moving subject. I never miss focus on those cameras. Dead center it is really sharp. It's fairly sharp near the edges. But, it does have a small amount of chromatic aberration, but nothing I can't correct in Lightroom. I like it for the look I get out of it. It's subjective, I know, but it works in some situations. It's not as sharp as my Sigma 50mm f/1.4 Art lens, but that is not always what I want. This is a great lens for those days when I want to slow down and just take photos for fun. For me, it's a lens I will keep forever.

I am just starting to learn using a dslr and this one is a good one for beginners like me. Has different settings and manual setting to try. I love it and I got it on a good deal. Thanks Safoora

This is my first DSLR camera and I must say it is an excellent camera. Even in auto mode the pictures are beautiful. The manual explains everything in detail.
