Dts True Volume

Been working great since the last firmware update truly love the upfiring speakers that gives atmos and dts the true surround sound you get at the movies

yes - it's not a true mute, just drops the volume to about where your noise floor is. Hasn't been an issue for my use case - podcasts/webcasts/live content. Was a good purchase for our studio

Bose does a great job and making a little speaker sound incredible. Not true surround as it has one speaker but the fidelity is good enough to hit all the notes with great clarity. I got it pretty wet poolside and has not affected performance. Batteries seem to go a little faster at high volume, but honestly you don’t need much volume to enjoy your tunes.

I was looking for a 5 channel receiver/amp so I could utilize my existing surround sound speaker system after my old AIWA receiver finally died. I looked at PYLE units but the reviews scared me off. I saw this unit at B&H and it had everything I was looking for. Although it is not an actual Dolby or DTS processor it does have 5.2 channel output and 5.2 RCA inputs so I can order a separate Dolby/DTS decoder that has 5.1 output and still get true surround sound. I run my HDTV through it to get surround sound over the 5.1 channels (I only have one subwoofer). The sound of this unit over my AIWA speakers is excellent and the AM/FM receiver is picks up well after connecting the antenna. The remote offers the ability to change all of the parameters of the unit and works easily from 30 feet away. The only drawback is the remote will not turn the unit off but I hit that on my way to the bedroom after we're done watching TV. It would also be nice to be able to adjust the volume of the 5 channels independently. It seems to be well built and I expect many years of service from it. I did a lot of comparing of various priced units and all in all I think this unit is a great value for the money and I am very happy with it.

We own several VIZIO products and have grown with the brand for many years. With each new unit, we're more impressed than the time before. Not only for the quality of the product itself, but the small details that go into the getting the unit up and running. The M512a-H6 sound bar with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X is the latest example. First, I want to point out the sound bar is more than just a bar. It's actually a bar, a subwoofer and two satellite speakers. But even the bar itself is more than just a bar as it includes upward facing speakers in addition to the traditional forward facing feature. This unit includes Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. We hadn't even noticed before that Netflix (and probably others) already support this more immersive sound experience. Technology will continue to improve with each new unit so it's no surprise that it's a step up from the sound system built into a television or even an existing sound bar. But what makes VIZIO products shine is that setup isn't difficult. Units are packaged with cabling labeled to reduce confusion and there are also removable pull-strips over the ports on the sound bar itself. You don't have to have an advanced tech degree to be able to set up this VIZIO sound system. If you're wondering how it sounded... it filled the room well for a captivating viewing (and listening) experience!

Picked up two pair of the EVID 6.2 speakers to use as height speakers in my Atmos/DTS:X system. I built tall custom stands to support the 6.2's instead of wall-mounting them. These speakers are doing an outstanding job in their role as height speakers, and I think a pair would be equally suitable as main L/R satellites when coupled with a subwoofer. I'm powering my 6.2's with a Crown CTs4200, which, at 180 RMS watts per channel, is an excellent match for them.

The sound bar is excellent and the so is the control software. I have a Samsung NU8000 TV (2018) and I found out the hard way that it doesn't support DTS. Any DTS input signal is downgraded to PCM stereo when using ARC on the TV :( It appears Samsung dropped DTS support in 2018 so be careful!

pros i have paired my tv with samsung q800a soundbar and it works perfectly well. one thing to note here is that this tv does not support q-symphony you cant really get the tv+soundbar through earc however tv+soundbar works for me on wifi mode. having said that you would not be able to enjoy dolby atmos, dolby digital plus audio formats using wifi. cons the frame does not support dolby vision or dts:x which is a big drawback. even samsung q series soundbars support dolby vision passthrough and dts:x audio.

Incredible value at Black Friday pricing. Main menu UI is outdated but as a player it works very well. HDR optimizer is great, but didn’t seem to be enabled by default. I encourage new owners to go through their settings properly. There is only one issue which is that it’s way, way too easy to accidentally press the Netflix button on the remote when navigating menus, interrupting playback and taking ages to load, and then even longer to get back to the movie. If only the player was able to re-encode DTS to Dolby, it would be perfect, as many popular soundbars don’t support DTS at all. Notably you can choose to output DTS as PCM, but even 5.1ch DTS-HD seems to be output as 2ch PCM (at least with my gear), which is a bit of a downgrade.
