Dual Cpu Threadripper Motherboard

What can I say that hasn't been said. This CPU is 2nd to none... until the Gen4 Threadripper comes out. It runs at about 40c.. seen it go up to about 45c when gaming. Haven't fully tested it with video editing and music production.. but I am sure it will be way better than the 3600 it replaced. Unless you are willing to wait for and spend a lot more on a 16core (or 32 or 64 core) TR4 end of year or so.. if you can find one of these.. and you have the need to use up to 16 cores, this is the CPU to own.

the perfect companion for a Threadripper PRO 3995WX... has been running Ubuntu 20.04 with dual VMWare Win10/11 VMs fine for a week now, but i have not yet filled all 8 memory slots nor tackled the setup of a four-SSD RAID array on the included Hyper PCIe 4.0 card

I like it. - Wrecks the price/performance curve, especially for parallel scenarios. - CPU cooler looks good and is a lot more capable than others, especially OEM ones. - Attaching the heatsink to the motherboard was a little tight but not bad. - Does require a motherboard with compatible BIOS, which not all B-chipset motherboards have out of the factory. I decided to spend more for an X570 motherboard which all support Ryzen 3000 CPUs out of the box. Otherwise, you have to hope a B450 motherboard has a new enough BIOS version from the factory, or you need a spare older AM4 CPU to let you upgrade the BIOS first.

We purchased this CPU for a customer that had a CU go bad. We were able to install it in the same motherboard and power it on. The system came up as it was supposed to. Product arrived with no issues.

Very powerful CPU and a huge upgrade from my 2700X. I tried using it on my X470 motherboard, but it just couldn't deliver enough power. Crashed anytime the CPU was heavily used. Upgraded to a new X570 motherboard and my system has been rock-solid since.
