Great little addition to any instrumental setting

I use this RainCoat to also keep the dust off my camera and lens when shooting in environments where there is a lot of wind and dust in the air. It's very simple to use and adjustable for different lens lengths.

No filter is better than the best filter. But if you need it for protection (sand, dust, wind, etc.) don't put cheap glass in front of expensive glass. Go with the better brands, it has much less flaring then all the cheap ones (i've tried them all).

The SM57 is an instrumental mic but it still works great as an interview mic as well for videos.

The Apollo Orb currently is made with really strong fiberglas ribs. You can use it outside in the wind and it stands up to anything. The OLD version only had metal ribs. They used to bend. Most of the negative reviews you see of this are from when it had metal rims. Westcott should have given it a new name or model number when they improved it.

Had the older version for 2+ years. Couldn't live without it. This one is even better if that is possible. The mount feels so thought, and I think the sound quality is even a little better. The wind jammer in this kit is much better than the off brand wind jammer I had with my other one. I would highly recommend Rode and this kit!

First of all, I'm loving this wind-resistant design. It is extremely helpful with wind-gusts and limits the effects. I have the 42 inch version of this reflector too, and love it. But having this 52 inch version is a good option when the shot is wider and you need a larger light source. Or when there is more than one subject in the shot. I posted a picture of both of them together to compare the sizes. The 52 and 42 are very complimentary. This 52 version seems identical to the 42 version in quality and functionality. I previously reviewed the 42, here's what I wrote: This reflector is cool. It really works well letting the wind pass thru, while still giving good reflection/light. If you have ever worked with a reflector outside, you know how the wind can make things extremely difficult. The wind makes it difficult to hold the reflector in position and almost impossible to hold the reflector still. This movement from the wind gusts causes inconsistencies in your reflected light on the subject. It is distracting and unacceptable to the shot on most occasions. This wind-resistant reflector helps with that. It is made of a reflective mesh so the wind goes right through. But in my testing, it stills works very effectively as a reflector. It is kind of a win/win. The build quality of this reflector is impressive, and the materials seem good too. I love that it has 2 handles. This makes it much simpler to operate handheld. And having 1/4 mounting threads on each handle makes it super easy to attach to an arm or stand. I'm super impressed with this reflector and think it will come in very handy for my future shoots, especially the ones outdoors when dealing with wind.
