If you're looking for a reliable and affordable hard drive for your surveillance DVR, this is a great choice.

I have this drive running in my surveillance DVR now for about 15 months and it really is the quality I would expect from Western Digital. Today I exchanged this drive for a 3TB purple drive (WD of course), just to maximize the capacity of my DVR. I have never really noticed it but this drive creates a lot of heat when used 24/7 . I know this drive was never meant to be in a DVR but considering the quality of the WD drives, I tried it for about 15 months. That in fact the drive went through this long time running 24/7, confirms my trust in WD drives once more. Out of 35 drives I bought over the years I had only two that failed (fortunately within warranty). Even my oldest drive from 2002 is still up and running. I never was that lucky with drives from other manufacturers.

Use this in a surveillance system DVR. With 8 4K cameras on continuously, it takes several weeks to fill before the data is overwritten. Always swap out the drives in surveillance camera systems with higher capacity WD drives. Never had a problem or failure yet. Very Reasonably priced for such capacity. Highly recommend all WD drives.

I have used the Purple drives in 3 DVR setups for surveillance cameras, and they have been the best upgrade for the units. I've also used regular drives in the past, and they fail within 2 years. I have a 1TB Purple drive that has been running for 3ish years without an issue. Can't recommend this product enough.

Installed it inside a surveillance DVR and it is working fine since then. I don't know tough how fast it is or not, I have not tested its speed. My only concern is durability, as long as it lasts for a long time, I am fine with it, so only time will tell how good it really is.

I desperately needed a 12V 5A power adapter for my surveillance system DVR. I tried, and tried, and tried a bunch of different ones from everywhere (Amazon, BestBuy, local electronics stores, etc) and no one had one that had one that was 12V and 5A and the right tip for the physical connection. B&H, of course, came to the rescue with the perfect product. This power adapter has so many combinations of voltages (with varying power provided) along with a ton of tips, you will be hard pressed to find any device it would not work with. Great buy.

I grew up in Manual Mode... with a light meter in one hand and Contessa 35 in the other. However, I have eased into automatic as I have moved into 'senior citizen' territory. I have also become a fan of in-camera zoom and not having 30 pounds of lenses to wag around. The Lumix DMC-ZS 100 is now my 'go-to' favorite camera. I have two other Panasonic zoom cameras, but the ZS 100 offers the crisp, great color saturation photos that I remember from my early days. The ZS 100 has plenty of options that eliminate bringing anything else but the camera on trips or shoots. I am an avid fan and recommend it to anyone; beginner or serious photographer.
