A teeny, tiny 2 TB USB flash drive. Because of its two different size USB connectors, its an excellent, Bridge, for transferring files to and from older motherboards and my newer, more modern laptop which does not have a USB, A, port.

Update can be done without old CPU with USB flash drive only.

We are using a flash drive to store and playback videos on a portable projector. I tried with a USB 3.0 Flash Drive, thinking the newer version was better. But the projector had a different idea. I learned from the professionals at B+H that this unit requires an older USB 2.0 Flash Drive. I never would have thought of that but sure enough, when I used this Verbatim 64G Ergo USB 2.0, the projector recognized the videos and played them flawlessly.

It was bought as a backup device, which can be connected/disconnected when needed. The size of 1 TB is optimal for computers with 500-750 GB hard drive. Included backup software with simple friendly interface from WD is easy to install and use. The good idea was to have password protection to drive access which may skipped on trusted computer and left active on all others. The USB 3.0 protocol gave you plenty of speed as well as back compatibility to USB 2.0.I can only complain to the length of cable included to the box - it is extremely short with specific micro Type B Male connector which is somehow useful with laptops and completely inconvenient with desktops.

This connector allowed me to connect my USB-c external drive to an older Macpro and transfer 4 TB of data with no errors, unlike a prior connector I had. I highly recommend this.

I was considering a SSD, but at less than $200 for 5 TB this is really good value. It is a Seagate drive. Great interface and the perfect storage for Time Machine. It is the size of a cigarette pack. Included cables are USB C to USB C and USB C to USB A. The data rate for a USB A connection is very low but who cares for a backup? It is USB and it operates off your computer's power. It would also would be great for portable video storage in the field as it is ruggedized.

Great little hub. I use it to connect my new WD 3 TB external drive and my printer to my PC. If you need more USB ports this will do the trick. Just plug it in and you're good to go.

Simply amazing device. I can not get over just how compact this 5 TB drive is. Data transfer rates are incredibly fast (this is a native USB-C device). Comes with NTFS file system pre-formatted (which I find far more space efficient than exFAT). Low power requirements, easily supplied by most USB-3 and USB-C ports. Comes with a USB-3 to USB-C adaptor. If using a Windows 10 Pro computer, I strongly recommend using the Win 10 Bitlocker capability to encrypt all the data you place on this drive. Drives this small hold a lot and can be easily misplaced. If that happens, you want to lose the drive but not your privacy!
