Eclipse Cut Glass

I tested 4 brands and the B&H Eclipse Glasses gave the best view of the sun and felt the most protective! The VisiSolar Smartphone Filters produced a natural white light in photos... but any position I held them on my smartphone, the sun images came out as an oval shape sun with a lot of glare. So I cut a big piece of cardboard cereal box to make a wide phone shield, cut out a rectangle where my smartphone lens is located, and taped a single cardboard-framed eyepiece of eclipse glasses over this lens hole to make a much better cell phone camera filter.

I cut my patch cable teeth on a much more complicated connector with two tiny parts and a body. And with aging eyes and not so nimble fingers I managed to make up a bunch of cables. The Eclipse connectors are like moving from dark to light. Im saving my money for a Eclipse crimping tool that trims the excess wire. Other than a slight hangnail of conductors these connectors are great. A new crimping tool will eliminate the hangnail. If you are considering this connector, buy the tool along with it.

I got this and use it triple-stacked Hollywood Black Magic 1/4 + Hoya IR CUT + This 77mm Eclipse Vari-ND for use on my BMPCC rig. It works a treat and the combo give a really great look to my shots. I haven't tried it for long exposure photography but I suppose I really should.

This is the perfect filter for the upcoming solar eclipse. Precision threaded ring with glass filter. Dry nice.

Worked perfectly fine for this year's eclipse, without having to buy a glass filter the exact right size. During totality, it had to quickly come off the lens, and that was relatively simple. Will I save it for another eclipse?

Moderately priced, along with the filter also it came with a professional level solar eclipse viewing glass for free. Overall well built solar filter. I attached it on the top of Nikon 600mm F4 VR lens. Satisfied with the rep who helped me choose the right filter size.

I buy a uv filter for two reasons..to cut down on uv intrusion and to protect the front glass in my lenses. It is cheaper to replace a filter that to replace a glass lens. The clarity and 'zero ground' quality of Tiffen filters insures that there will be no degradation of the finished image.

If you want to cut out the glare or remove a significant amount of it, this filter is highly recommended. It's especially useful for seeing through glass by removing the glare so you can see inside buildings and cars. Very useful for crime scene documention where glare is a problem. These filters are the quality we expect from Tiffen. Hard to find words to say more.

Couldn't keep up with algae in my 75 gallon fish aquarium. Cut this filter into two strips and placed on cover glass under fluorescent lamp. Seems to still be enough UV for moss balls and minor algae growth, but no longer have to clean glass every few days. I haven't seen this sold anywhere for this purpose. It's a great idea, if I say somyself. Shipped and received quickly. Rather large box. Material was undamaged and easy to work with.
