Yes, if you wear glasses you need a diopter. Go to your optometrist and ask him/her what your prescription is and then purchase the compatible diopter. I am near sighted so I definitely needed a diopter to correctly and accurately focus my brand new Leica. Yes, it is seemingly expensive for what it is, but look at how much you pay for a Leica! As a previous reviewer said, it is not even noticeable once you simply screw it on. 5 |

Works great for my aging eyesight. I use it with my prescription glasses and it allows me to see the screen clearly in bright sunlight and without having to switch to reading glasses. 5 |

I'm using this for outdoor video to shade the sun from the camera screen. The eye piece changes enough for my prescription glasses, so I see the screen better than with glasses alone, obviously I could use new glasses. There is slight distortion at the edges but it's not a deal breaker for me. 5 |
